  • When you die without a will, all your estatedebts and taxes are paid. This cannot happen until courts appoint estate trustees without a will. . If you do not have the cash to do this, your assets must be sold.
  • Married spouses in Ontario receive their spousal preferential share. This is the first $200,000 after all debts are paid. In intestate estates, only married spouses have these inheritance rights.
  • The balance of the estate is shared between married spouses and children. There are specific rules that apply depending on the number of children and if they are minors.
  • Who Should Apply For Estate Certificates

Normally, persons who apply have financial interests in the estate and are without a conflict of interest. This can include common law spouses or next of kin as identified under Ontario law.

Usually, your closest living Ontario relative can seek appointment. If there is a conflict, or two people of equal entitlement seek to be appointed, then courts decide who is appointed.

The court application must notify all potential beneficiaries of the estate that someone is applying for appointment as estate trustee. This process can take time, especially if not all beneficiaries can be identified. Applicants will require the consent of most beneficiaries who have an interest in the Ontario estate.

If there are any minors or persons with disabilities, then applicants must serve the parent or guardian of minors and the Ontario Office of the Childrenâs Lawyer or the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.

The court has discretion to require that anyone applying for appointment post a bond. This usually delays matters and adds expense.

El Paso Children’s Museum Is Now La Nube: The Shape Of Imagination

After months of speculation, the leadership of the El Paso Childrens Museum and Science Center has announced its permanent name La Nube: The Shape of Imagination.

La Nube means The Cloud in Spanish and refers to the giant cloud-shaped building under construction on the corner of Santa Fe Street and W. Main Drive in downtown El Paso. The name was chosen from a long list of more than 600 suggestions submitted by members of the El Paso community.

The name was revealed this morning at a ceremony attended by 100 excited 1st through 5th graders at Aoy Elementary School. Officials from La Nube, exhibition fabricator Kubick Maltbie, the El Paso Community Foundation, and the City of El Paso were present to unveil the brand with a variety of take-home goodies and a video presentation.

We are thrilled to announce the name of the new childrens museum and science center coming to downtown El Paso, Executive Director Barry Van Deman **said. When **La Nube opens, families will explore, play, and learn throughout four floors of exhibits. Taking its inspiration from the clouds above, La Nube will challenge learners of all ages to reach for the clouds and let their imagination soar.

Ontario Common Law Partners Dont Inherit Without Wills

It is important to remember that only married spouses are entitled to a share in intestate estates. Ontario common law spouses do not have inheritance rights in intestate estates.

Common law partners do not receive the $200,000 spousal preference share. It does not matter if you have lived together for 21 years or not.

Common law spouses are entitled to make claims for defendantâs relief, joint family ventures and unjust enrichment.

Common law spouses do not automatically inherit even a portion of the estate. They must commence legal proceedings to claim dependantâs relief, joint ventures, unjust enrichment and constructive trusts. Again, they cannot sue the estate and also act as estate trustee without a will.

If you have a married or common law spousal claim, you require experienced estate advice.

What are people saying about children’s museums in El Paso, TX?

This is a review for children’s museums in El Paso, TX:

“This is a free museum right next to the Border Patrol museum, which is also free. We spent maybe 30-45 minutes in the museum. Outside, there are trails, which were unfortunately closed when we visited. They also have a garden area with examples of local plant species. There are quite a few exhibits that show life for the indigenous populations that existed in and around the area that’s now El Paso. They had some replicas and some authentic pieces from the area. It was a good surface level introduction to the area, especially if you aren’t from here or familiar with the history, which I am not. I’m hoping to find more places like this and to keep learning more about this beautiful part of the country!”

Snhetta Reveals Plans For Cheongju New City Hall In South Korea

Snøhetta won a competition to design the El Paso Children’s Museum in 2018. It will be located in the arts district of El Paso’s Downtown area, near the US-Mexico border, and under one kilometre from border-crossing station El Paso del Norte.

With its proximity to Mexico in mind, the museum is designed for both Spanish and English, and includes an exhibit created with Museo La Rodadora, a children’s museum just across the border in the city of Juarez.

Last year, architectural studio Rael San Fratello installed pink seesaws between the metal slats of the US-Mexico border wall so children in El Paso and Juarez could play together. The installation followed a string of controversies surrounding the Mexican border wall, a key commitment in president Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
