This Is An Amazing Museum But Very Expensive
This is an amazing museum, but very expensive. Admission for a family of four, plus two added “experiences” per person was just over $200. Add lunch for around $50 at the museum’s cafe, and an Uber to and from our downtown hotel at $70, and we spent over $300 for just over four hours of entertainment. I’m sure that there are ways to save , but we didn’t have time for that level of planning. Glad we did it, but it was a “one-and-done” for our family.

This museum is amazing. You need to be prepared with a lot of patience, because kids are everywhere, but you can enjoy here a lot of interactive fun. +:-really big museum for a whole day trip-almost everything is interactive-expensive-museum is missing a plan, you dont have a strict way on which you can move, thanks to this fact you can miss some parts of museum-Pixar and submarine have special entry, the tickets were sold out at 11:30, I wasn´t able to get in even there were no guests for these parts at 4pm -I was missing part for rest, all day you are walking in mass of human bodies and you have no space for rest-even inside you can find attractions, which are paid. I paid 8 USD for flying simulator, for 1 hour of waiting I got 2-3 minutes of flight

The history of the museum had started in 1911 when the president of the Sears, Roebuck and Company, Julius Rosenwald visited with his son the Deutsches Museum in Munich. The boy was filled with admiration for the museum items that moved. That was the moment when Rosenwald got an idea to create something like that in Chicago. For this purpose, he invested 3 million dollars for the museum realization, and, moreover, he was supported by the industrial in-club of the city in his idea.
The Museum of Science and Industry is housed in the Palace of Fine Arts, which was built in 1983 for holding the Worlds Columbian Exposition. The building was in poor condition, that is why it was decided to make a full restoration of it. About 5 million dollars were spent on its reconstruction.
