Wheelchairs are on a first-come, first-serve basis . They seemed plentiful in supply the day we went.
Wheelchair usage is fairly new to me. Im still trying to get comfortable and less awkward using one in public.
The CRPS I have in my feet flares with over usage. So, I rented a wheelchair at the Creation Museum, in hopes that I would be able to walk the next day at the Ark Encounter. Im glad I did because it did help tremendously and I was able to walk through the Ark.
Almost everything at the Creation Museum was easily seen and accessed from a wheelchair. There were a few exhibits where I did stand up to get a closer look, such as the case depicting the flood using miniature figures and the exhibit showing the nine months of pregnancy.
The only occasion that caused me to pause was when we went to the 4D Special Effects Theater. I fully understood the staff asking me to step out of the wheelchair to stow it out of the way. However, I was a little surprised that they told me to follow the guide and navigate several stairs when there were several available seats near the entrance. The lights had already half dimmed with the show about to begin. I felt a little unsteady and awkward. It seemed odd that they didnt at least ask what would be easiest for me as I stepped out of a wheelchair. Nonetheless, we managed and it was all good.

How long should we spend?
One of the most asked questions Ive received is, How long should we spend at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum?
Because there is so much to do at each attraction, we have introduced an additional free option for you . Paid ticket holders to the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum may request a free Explore More pass to the attraction they visited. This enables them to return and explore the many features most guests cannot do in just one day . The Explore More day excludes walking through the exhibits, which you would do during your first visit. What We Did This Time & Recommendations
Read & Viewed Exhibits
The exhibits were well done and progressed in a logical order. A theme youll see in some of the Answers in Genesis curriculum is the 7 Cs- creation, corruption, catastrophe, confusion, Christ, cross, and the consummation. This is the order of the museum exhibits as well.
The Creation Museum contains a lot of opportunities for reading. We read a lot but also skimmed a great amount. The only reason we did this was because our family has been reading Answers in Genesis books and curriculum for years. We were familiar with the content so we were able to move at a quicker pace.
If you have children, Id borrow or buy some of those books before going, so you wont have to stop and read all the placards. Plus, theyre wonderful books!
The Creation Museum website has super cool info about the exhibit areas. You could show this to your family prior to your visit to get them excited. And, since some of that info is presented at the museum, you can remind them of what they viewed and heard prior to the trip rather than stopping to read at every informational stop.
At the very least, I suggest reading Genesis 6 9 before going to the museum.
Also, when at a museum, I find it helpful to snap photos of things Id like to read later.
Incorporated into the exhibits are topics addressing the history of the Bible, evolution, the sanctity of life, dinosaurs and dragons, Noah and the flood, and more.

If you definitely plan to join us for this trip or are just interested, please do the following: I will have what I call a committed list. If you definitely intend to be included, go to “contact” page, fill out the form with the info needed and send. You could also let me know via email . I will put you on this list or a waiting list if we are full. Please include the names and any children’s ages of all that would be with you and how you plan to room. Also include cell numbers.
Payment Instructions and Refunds
A $100 deposit per person is required. The deadline for this payment is July 22. Final Payments are due by August 22, 2022.
Deposit refund policy: This deposit is non refundable, unless I get someone to take your spot, which is often the case. Also, if it is early enough and I haven’t bought tickets or other expenses, you could also possibly get your deposit back if you had to drop out for an unavoidable circumstance.
Final payment refund policy: There are no refunds after 8/22/2022 unless we have someone to take your seats. If we could do this, you could then be in line for a full refund. If you have paid final payments before this date and have an unforeseen serious circumstance that would prohibit you from going, we could issue a partial refund. It would be your final payment amount minus the cost for any tickets, Hotel rooms, meals, bus costs,etc that I have procured for you. Of course if we could replace you, you could get a full refund.

Can You Buy Ark Encounter Tickets At The Gate
Yes, you can purchase tickets at the Encounter prior to boarding the shuttle that takes you to the Ark AND as of at least July 2019, only if you buy a Combo package or higher do you obtain free parking at the Ark. Parking is always free at the Creation Museum.
Is Ark Encounter still open?
WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. Kentuckys Ark Encounter and Creation Museum is set to reopen June 8 after almost three months of closure due to COVID-19. Beshear announced Tuesday that museums and outdoor attractions will be allowed to open their doors back up to the public.

Groups enjoy discounted rates as well as specialized assistance for check-in and ticketing. Creation Museum group discounts cannot be combined with any other discounts or offers. A group requires a minimum of 15 paying guests.
In order to ensure that space is available for your group of 15 or more paying guests, reservations are required 21 days in advance. A deposit of $100 is due at the time of booking. The deposit is refundable if the order is cancelled 21 or more days before your visit . Full payment, in one transaction, is due 21 days prior to the date of visit. Tickets added within 21 days of your scheduled visit must be paid for with a credit card at the time they are reserved.
If the required payments are not received by their due date, the reservation will be automatically cancelled.

Toured Outside The Creation Museum
We toured the botanical gardens, the koi pond, the rain forest, and the Eden Animal Experience.
We thought the animal experience was a little small, but the one at the Ark Encounter did not disappoint. It makes sense though, that the outdoor experiences at the Creation Museum focus on plant life more and the Ark Encounter incorporates more animals.
There was a playground where we could hear the squeals and laughter of children, but we did not visit it. We did relax under one of the three pavilions provided. The instrumental music playing over the sound system combined with a gentle breeze and the beauty of our surroundings refreshed us.
The trails were immaculately maintained and everything was colorful and beautiful. One thing to note, not all of the trails are wheelchair accessible, but most are.

There are a lot of bad hotel reviews for near the Creation Museum. Is there a good recommendation for a hotel near there. We are traveling with four children, ages 16, 13, 9 and one, and Grandma. We will need two rooms.

I have stayed in The Country Inn and Suites, which is listed as being in Hebron, it is clean and would be reasonable choice. At the same exit there is a Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn, the only downside with this exit there are no eating choices, you would have to drive to another exit for restaurants. I think they offer museum packages.
Comfort or Hampton Inn at the same exit are some other choices. If you donât mind driving a few extra miles check out Wingate in Erlanger, new hotel and very nice. I have also stayed at La Quinta and Springhill Suites in Florence which are closest to restaurants. Of those I mentioned, they sometimes have very good rates on expedia. They are nonrefundable so you must be sure of your dates and decision. I would not hesitate staying at any of the ones I mentioned.
