What Happens If The Weather Is Bad
By buying your tickets well in advance you run the risk of going to One World Observatory on a cloudy day. The trick is to buy them a week or two before your trip to New York, when you can check the weather relatively reliably and choose the best day accordingly. Needless to say, if you go up the skyscraper on a clear day you will have spectacular views of New York.
If you go up on a day when it rains a little, the good thing is that the observation deck at One World Trade Center is covered. This can also be an advantage if you visit New York on a very cold or very hot day.

One World Observatory And 9/11 Museum
Hello,
I want to visit the One World Observatory and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in a few weeks. Please, is there a difference between buying tickets in advance and on site? I won’t be able to print them and as an IT guy I saw way too many suddenly dead phones to trust them 🙂 Especially if there’s no other advantage, like discount, beating long lines at the booth or availability, I’ll be there around 1 PM.
According to the web, the price doesn’t vary with time, but I didn’t find on-site price . IIRC there’s a processing fee, which may not be there when purchasing on-site.
Also, are there any combo packages for these two places? I saw observatory + Trubute Museum, but not the 9/11 Museum.

Note that One World observatory is all behind glass. There are some open-air view platforms to consider as well. 9/11 Museum is a special case because it’s an indoor museum with limited daily capacity and a charity that is desperate for income. You can’t afford to delay buying tickets for it if you are traveling soon, in peak season. I personally prefer Top of the Rock.
Note that it is a very … sobering … visit, that may affect your mood after leaving. The outdoor fountain and plaza memorial is open and free at all times, but not remotely “like” the 9/11 museum.
It wasn’t a busy tourist week when we went so you also risk finding it sold out as tourist season and numbers increase.

Best Time To Visit One World Observatory + Tips
This is a very popular tourist destination and can get very busy at weekends and during holidays. Early in the day is always better to miss some of the crowds.
Like the other observation decks in New York, just before sunset is probably the best time to visit One World Observatory.
At this time of day you will get to see New York City in daylight, during the beautiful sunset lighting and then at night with all the city lights shining.
We would recommend booking your ticket advance, queues can be quite long during busy periods.
Check the weather for a clear day before you go, if possible, so that you get the best views.

Tour Of The Freedom Tower
The Freedom Tower observatory’s official name is One World Observatory.
You may hear it referred to by different names based on its association with past events and locations: the 911 Observatory, the World Trade Center Observatory, the 911 Freedom Tower.
Whatever you call it, this tower is like no other in the world. The views are unsurpassed and this is one of the very best locations in NYC for photography.

The tour of the Freedom Tower is self-guided, but there are guided tours of the memorial outside that include tickets to the Freedom Tower observatory.
The Freedom Tower is also a stop on both our Lower Manhattan and 911 Memorial GPS audio tours.
Upon entering the building, you pass through an airport-style security check. (Bring as few belongings as possible to speed up this process.
Be prepared to empty your pockets, remove your belt, and walk through a metal detector.
Your belongings will be screened and there are several prohibited items that you will find listed under our security information section.
After security, you go down an escalator and enter a series of halls with looping videos.
The first hall is Voices, which shares stories of those who built One World Trade Center.
Next is Foundations, a narrow hallway lined with fake bedrock to give you a sense of just how solid a foundation was needed to have built the Freedom Tower.
How To Get Here
The Freedom Tower’s address is 285 Fulton St, New York, NY 10007 and it’s located in the Financial District in Lower Manhattan at the corner of West and Vesey Streets.
The entrance is located on the West Plaza alongside West Street at the Northwest corner of the World Trade Center site and is bordered by Vesey Street to the North.
There are numerous subways nearby as well as a few buses. You can use this to get exact directions from your starting point to One World Trade Center.

Since One World Observatory tickets are timed, you must choose your preferred time of visit while buying them.
As soon as you purchase, One World Observatory online tickets get delivered to your inbox.
On the day of your visit, show the ticket in your email and walk in. No need to take printouts!
You must be at the attraction at least 15 minutes before the time mentioned on your ticket.
Even though you dont need to buy tickets for kids five years and below, you still need to mention them on the ticket booking page.
One World Observatory Vs Empire State Building
At One World, the Sky Pod elevator with a digital time-lapse highlighting five centuries of New York Citys evolving landscape is breathtaking.
Seeing Forever Theatre, an audio-visual experience that explores NYCs skyline, is another perk here.
In the southern part of Manhattan, One World Observatory has excellent views of the Financial District below, the Hudson River and the East River, and the Northeastern New Jersey .

Whats more from the One World Observatory, you can see the Empire State Building as well.
The only thing missing from OWTC is an open-air observatory, which the Empire State Building has.

One World Observatory Vs Top Of The Rock
From Top of the Rock, you enjoy a view of the classic Empire State Building set against the Manhattan skyline.

More than 90% of the tourists book the Standard Ticket, which lets you skip the long ticket counter lines at the ticket counter. It is the cheapest and the most popular ticket.

Why You Should Visit The 9/11 Memorial & Museum
Stationed in the exact footprints of the original twin towers, this memorial honors what once stood but is no more.
Before entering the museum, the approximately one-acre reflecting pools outside are fed by waterfalls which collectively make up the largest artificial waterfall in North America. The bronze parapets lining the pools have engravings of the victim’s names.
Also outside the museum is the Survivor Tree and Memorial Glade. The Survivor Tree is a tree that survived the attacks and continues to live despite every effort to destroy it — a sign of resilience.

One World Observatory And National 9/11 Memorial
I’m afraid I’ve confused myself in trying to plan a visit to both One World Observatory and the 9/11 Memorial.We are a group of 4 Seniors planning a visit around June 15-17. I am assuming that the 9/11 Memorial is the outside site and that the Museum houses artifacts. Is the Observatory part of the same complex? If not, how far apart are they? Can the Museum and the Observatory be visited together in a morning or afternoon? I see that you can reserve tickets for both sites what is the best timing to do this?

There are 3 areas involved in this. The 9/11 Memorial is a free outside area. The 9/11 Museum is a museum with artifacts & such with an admission charge. The observatory is at the top of the tallest skyscraper on the site of the 9/11 attacks. I’m not certain if or how much it charges.

I haven’t went on my trip yet but from my research, this is my 9/11 Memorial, Museum and 1 World Trade Center Observatory itinerary.
The Memorial is listed as opening at 7:30 so I plan to be there then. I have 9am tickets for the 1 World Trade Center Observatory. I read somewhere to expect an hour in the Observatory. Then I have 10:30am tickets for the Museum.
They are all right next to each other.
They are all next to each other I would visit the museum last,it can be an emotionally heavy time and personally I wouldn’t want to do the emotional about face.

What To Expect At One World Observatory
Your experience at the One World Observatory starts at the Global Welcome Center a video wall that welcomes all visitors from all countries.
Following this you have Voices, a short film featuring the men and women who designed and built the One World Trade Center along with their inspiring stories.
Finally there is an exhibit showing the foundations and the Manhattan bedrock on which New York City and the World Trade Center was built.
A Sky Pod elevator will then whisk you up in 47 seconds to the observation deck, which is located on floors 100, 101 and 102.
Whilst rising up to the observatory you will see the fascinating history of New York City on the LED screens on the walls of the elevator.
On arrival at the top you will enter the See Forever Theatre and watch a two minute film of New York city streets, people, and buildings.
At the end of the film the screen rises up and you unexpectedly get your first breathtaking views across New York City.
What Is The One World Observatory In Nyc Opening Hours
It is important to check the official website for the week you plan to visit One World Observatory. Why? The opening hours slightly vary each week. Regardless, the observatory generally opens between 8-9 am. It may close anywhere from 5 pm to 11 pm, so it is important to check beforehand. Holiday hours also vary.
