Morikami Museum And Japanese Gardens
The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is an absolute cultural gem in South Florida. Half park, half museum, it seems strange to find traditional Japanese gardens in the heart of north Boca Raton, only adding to the intrigue. In 1904, Japanese-born Jo Sakai founded a small agrarian community called “Yamato” with a few dozen Japanese immigrants. Ultimately, their crop experimentation failed, but their lasting legacy was left behind. Enrich yourself in these enchanting gardens, likely the only place like it anywhere in Florida.

Things To Do In Boca Raton: Meat Eatery And Taproom
Located on the ground floor of the Cendyn SPACES building, MEAT Eatery and Tap room is an off-shoot of the popular eatery and pub in the Keys. The modern, cozy place, which is lined with bricks and has comfortable seating, is all about meat and plenty of beer to wash it down. They smoke their meats on-site and make sausages in-house. Their burgers and pulled pork sandwiches are award-winning and have been voted the best in the country many times. Ted Deutch Retiring Paving Way For New Boca Representative
Boca Raton will have a new member of Congress in January.
Ted Deutch, who represents District 22 in the U.S. House, announced Monday that he will retire rather than seek a seventh term. Deutch becomes the 31st House Democrat to retire. Polls indicate that Republicans are likely to regain the majority in November.
Though the Republican-led Legislature and Gov. DeSantis will approve new congressional districts for the coming election, current versions of the maps show no major effort to gerrymander District 22 or District 21, which includes Delray Beach. The District 21 incumbent is another Democrat, Lois Frankel.
Deutch will become CEO of the American Jewish Committee , one of the nations largest pro-Israel organizations. The move will mean a major financial boost from Deutchs congressional salary of $174,000. David Harris, whom Deutch will succeed at the AJC, made nearly $1.2 million, according to the groups 2020 tax filing.
Since winning his seat in a 2010 special election, the former state senator has been one of Israels strongest defenders. He chairs the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and co-chairs the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism.
Deutch lives off Glades Road near South County Regional Park. His successor may not come from Palm Beach County. District 22 includes not just Boca Raton and West Boca but also parts of northwest and coastal Broward County as far south as Fort Lauderdale.

Why Is The Boca Raton Childrens Museum Closed
For the past five years, the Florence Fuller Child Development Center has managed and operated the Boca Raton Childrens Museum. With the help of dedicated volunteers, committed patrons, supporters, visitors and members, the Childrens Museum offered programs and events to the community. While there is tremendous support for the concept of a Childrens Museum, the ability to make the museum a self-sustaining entity proved to be a challenge.
In December 2019, the Florence Fuller Child Development Center discussed an operation, ownership and management transition with the City of Boca Raton. It was determined that after December 19, the Childrens Museum would temporarily close and reopen under the operation and management of the Citys Recreation Services Department.
