History Of The Childrens Museum Of Indianapolis

Children’s Museum of Indianapolis hosting Jolly Days

The Childrens Museum of Indianapolis was first founded in 1925 as a family-oriented institute to give families a window into the advancement of science. Over the years, the museum has grown significantly to the point that it now features a 481,000 square-foot building on a 30-acre property.

The goal of this organization is to inspire children to seek out the incredible aspects of natural science. They work to provide exhibits that let guests enjoy a hands-on experience, so they come to discoveries naturally.

Health And Safety Procedures

Mask Policy

Your health and safety are our top priority. Throughout the pandemic we have closely and consistently followed the recommendations, data, and research provided by the CDC, local and state health departments, and our scientific advisory panel consisting of leading medical and public health officials. Due to the rapid increase in COVID cases in Indiana, the stress on our local medical resources and staff, and the challenges schools face to continue in-person education, we enforce the following mask policy:

Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required indoors for all visitors ages 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required in the outdoor areas of the Riley Childrens Health Sports Legends Experience®. Visitors who do not comply will be asked to leave and refunds will not be issued for already scanned tickets. We are unable to offer medical exceptions at this time.

We will continue to monitor the situation, consult with our team of experts, and re-evaluate as necessary.
