An independent and beloved Oregon nonprofit for 75 years, OMSI is dedicated to providing inclusive science exploration for communities across the region. However, we do not receive state or federal funds for operating expenses. We rely on memberships, earned revenue, and contributions to provide a financial base for engaging science learning.
Become A Member Of The Museum
The Museum of Science and Industry offers membership for $95 a year which includes free entry all year, free parking, free passes to the Giant Dome Theater, discounted tickets for other guests joining you, and more.
Depending on how many times you plan to visit and what you plan to do, this could save you a lot of money over time.
Individual memberships are valid for free entry year-round for one adult and one guest.
Worth Getting A Membership
My family has had membership to the museum for the past 5+ years. There is always something cool or new to see or do. The membership includes free passes for some exhibits. We got the membership level that includes free parking, which is worth it since parking is about $20/day. If you go just 2-3 times for a family of four, you’ve more than paid for the membership fee already. This is a great place to go on rainy, snowy, or hot days.

Big museum, something for everyone, would suggest to go when less people expected. Was there in few occasions, the worst was Christmassy time when kids off school. but beautiful.
We turned up at 10am on a weekday to find big lines, even though we had city passes. There were only two staff serving which was not nearly enough. The lady who served us, however, was very helpful.We did the coal tour and Kyle who did the tour was very good.We then went to see the U-Boat which was the highlight of our trip. It is very well preserved and Nate gave a good tour.We did feel that the museum could do with more science content overall and exhibits for more mature visitors as well as children. It felt a little bit like unfulfilled potential, given the size of the museum.

With happy thoughts of spring break, summer vacation, and weekend travel, its always a good time for members to take advantage of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Travel Passport Program!
As a member, you already know that membership with Discovery World gives you many perks $6 flat rate parking in our underground garage, invitations to our member-only events, and discounts on Summer Camp and classes are just some of the benefits you can receive with your membership. But one really great member benefit is the ability to participate in the ASTC Travel Passport Program.
The ASTC Travel Passport Program is designed to offer members the opportunity to visit other participating museums or science centers and receive free general admission. All members of Discovery World, at all levels, may be eligible to visit over 300 different museums across the country and around the world .

Can I Have A Receipt For My Taxes
The letter you receive with your permanent membership cards serves as your receipt for tax purposes. If you opted to receive digital membership cards only, the email you receive containing your order confirmation and digital cards serves as your receipt for tax purposes. Please hold onto these receipts until tax season as they cannot be reproduced.

Can My Caregiver Visit Msi With My Children But Without Me
Yes! If you have a Family Level membership or higher, your caregiver can use your membership benefits when they visit with your child. Just be sure to notify us about the caregiver at the time of membership purchase or prior to the caregivers first visit. One caregiver is permitted per membership account.
Please note that caregivers are not permitted to bring a guest and are required to present your membership card and their photo ID at the Membership Desk in Entry Hall.

From the Loop its a 25-minute train ride southwards to the Hyde Park neighborhood. Take the train to the 55th/56th/57th Street station, and walk 2 blocks east to reach the museum.
Pro tip: Even the Museum admits it can be tricky to get to this attraction via transit if you are unfamiliar with the city.

Access To Digital Cards
We offer digital membership cards for all members. Going digital means you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card and it helps reduce the Fields impact on the environment.
All members will receive an email with instructions on how to access their cards.
You can download and save the card directly to your smartphone and access the card at any time:
- For iPhone: Access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button, then click “Add to Wallet” and “Add.” The card will automatically go to your iPhones Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card .
- For Android: Download Wallet Passes from Google Play. After you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click Download in the membership email, and the card will automatically go to your Wallet Passes app.
You can share your card with individual on your membership card:
- For iPhone: Tap on the “…” button on the front to navigate to the back of the card. Then tap on the share icon at the top right to send the card to your secondary member.
- For Android: Tap on the small “i” on the front to navigate to the back of the card. Then use the Share Pass button to send the card to your secondary member.
Please show your photo ID along with your digital card when you arrive at the museum. You can continue to use your physical card for visits to the Field and participating reciprocal institutions.

If I Purchase A Membership Today When Can I Begin Using It
You can begin using your membership immediatelyâand we hope you do! If you purchase online or by phone and visit the same day, just bring your confirmation email or proof of purchase confirmation number and you will be provided with a temporary card. If you purchase your membership onsite at the Museum, you will be issued a temporary card once your transaction is complete.

Your membership gives you reciprocal general admission access to more than 300 science and technology museums around the world through the Association of Science and Technology Centers Passport Program . Just show your digital or physical Field membership card when you arrive. Some program partners have residency restrictions on admission benefits.
