Best Parking For Field Museum

Is There Street Parking Near Field Museum

Top 10 “MUST SEE” at the FIELD MUSEUM! – Chicago’s Field Museum’s best exhibits.

Yes, you can find metered street parking on Solidarity Drive. It will cost you $4 for 2 hours. However, these will likely be snapped up on a first-come, first-served basis, and so are not guaranteed.

You can also find street parking near Field Museum along Michigan Avenue, and other streets which will cost you $4-6 for 2 hours. Remember that a drawback of street parking is the many rules you need to follow to prevent a parking ticket. Doesn’t parking at a nearby, safe, convenient garage seem much more tempting?

Wrigley Field Parking Tips

Street parking near Wrigley Field is risky with residential permit restrictions in place. Always check posted signs to make sure parking is allowed, especially on game days. Looking for a spot north of Irving Park Road or west of Ashland Avenue is safer.

Cubs season parking pass holders can park at Camry Lot, RAV4 Lot, and Irving Park Lot. Gameday on-site parking is also allowed at the Camry Lot and Irving Park Lot.

Always check for updates on parking rates and rules online before heading to Wrigley Field on any day. Its even better if you book a parking spot ahead of your visit get instant access to a guaranteed parking space on arrival.

Tips For Buying Your Tickets At The Field Museum

We visited the Field Museum on a sunny Saturday at the end of spring break. The lines weren’t too long, we stood in queue for 10 minutes, at the most. When we approached the agent to pay we were presented two options: the All Access Pass and the Discovery Pass . The All Access Pass includes admission, all special exhibits and a 3D film. The Discovery Pass includes admission, one special exhibit or 3D movie. As those were the two options we were given we chose the Discovery Pass- which set us back $74 .

What I found out after the fact is that there is another, more affordable option: the Basic Admission, which allows you to explore the museum but includes no special exhibits or 3D movies. Had this been offered to us I would have chosen it . Be sure to ask for the basic admission if it isn’t offered . It would have saved my family $24- not a small sum.

Planning to visit a few Chicago attractions? We recommend CityPASS.

Chicago Field Museum With Kids

GregLSBlog: Chicago Dinosaurs: Field Museum of Natural History

The Field Museum has been in Chicago since 1893 and was originally created for the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition. The museums current building was built in 1921 and is huge with 480,000 square feet and a staggering number of exhibits to see.

The exhibits range from walking through the history of the earth in Evolving Planet which leads to the kid favorite Dinosaur Hall, to walking through Ancient Egypt, a Pawnee Earth Lodge, the Crown Family Playlab, and so much more. Your kids will be amazed at how much there is to see and do.

The Field Museum is located on the Museum Campus right on the beautiful Chicago Lakefront. You will also find the Shedd Aquarium and Planetarium here. Although all three museums are close with so much to do in each museum, I would stick to exploring one museum a day. Make sure to find time before or after the museum to take a stroll along the lakefront for great views of the city and Lake Michigan.
