What Is The Warrens Occult Museum

24 Hours in Haunted Monroe, Connecticut! ( WARREN OCCULT MUSEUM )

The Warrens began studying the paranormal in 1952 and have risen to fame from The Conjuring film series. Throughout the years, they accumulated memorabilia from their cases and opened the museum in the early 1980s. The most notable piece in their collection is the Annabelle doll in its large glass case. Along with the Annabelle doll, there is a smaller, but much more unsettling looking doll called the Shadow doll. Its said that the doll will infiltrate peoples dreams and stop their heart while they sleep. There is a large man-shaped structure that was found in the woods Connecticut that was used for satanic rituals, a human skull with a star painted on its forehead that was used for black magic, and an organ that looks harmless but is known to play music all on its own.

All who enter the museum are warned not to touch anything. This is a strictly enforced rule. Many of the objects housed in the cramped basement can latch onto a human host with just that simple action. So watch where you place your hands and most definitely watch what you say. You never know what might be listening and if it will take offense.

Owner Tony Spera Addressed Annabelle’s Escape Rumors On Social Media In Youtube Video

Yes, its still true Annabelle the haunted doll has not escaped from the the Warrens Occult Museum, located in Monroe, Connecticut.

However, to reassure social media users the escape is nothing more than a hoax, museum owner and caretaker of Annabelle, Tony Spera, also the son-in-law of Edward and Lorraine Warren, posted a video to YouTube and stood alongside the doll on display, proving she is right where she belongs.

Im in here, in the museum, because of the rumors that Annabelle has escaped, Spera said in the video. I gotta tell you something. I dont know if youre gonna wanna hear this or not, but Annabelle did not escape… She didnt take a trip. She didnt fly first class, and she didnt go out to visit her boyfriend.

Annabelles alive… Well, I shouldnt say alive. Annabelle is here in all of her infamous glory. She never left the museum, Spera assured social media users.

The rumors of Annabelles escape began Friday after an internet user changed the dolls Wikipedia page, claiming she had escaped from the museum. The Wikipedia page has since been corrected. Still, social media was ablaze with the rumor.

Spera said in the YouTube video that the museum, which is currently closed due to a zoning violation last year, has high-tech security. So, if the doll actually had left the premises, Spera said he wouldve been aware.

Can You Visit The Warren Occult Museum

No. Ed Warren died in 2006, and Lorraine Warren died in 2019. It closed due to zoning issues since its located on their private property in the basement.

The local police chief explained that this is a residential area, and theres no room for traffic and parking.

Tony Spera, Ed and Lorraines son-in-law, has tried to comply with regulations and keep unwanted visitors away, but up to this point, the Warren Occult Museum has remained closed.

Are There Any Plans To Build A New Occult Museum

Although Tony Spera and others would like to reopen the Warren Occult Museum, it doesnt look like that will happen. Its listed as permanently closed on Atlas Obscura. Since the Warrens emphasized the importance of not touching anything in the museum, there doesnt appear to be any conversation about moving the items to another location either.

How Did The Warren Occult Museum Get Started

The Warrens collected memorabilia throughout their investigations. They wanted to lock away these items that contained evil spirits to protect the public. Ed and Lorraine Warren were religious people who attended church and believed in God. Perhaps their faith influenced their decision to lock away such items.

As they traveled all over the world to perform various rituals, the Warrens brought back evil objects. There are artifacts from Asia, Canada, Europe, and Mexico, as well as the U.S. The museum is actually in the basement of their residence in Monroe, Conn., and not a separate building in town.

What Are The Spookiest Exhibits At The Warren Occult Museum

The items in the Warren Occult Museum have been used in satanic rituals. The Warrens disclosed that they have demonic forces attached to them. This explains why no visitor is allowed to touch any item in the museum. According to an interview with the Warrens, these items maimed or killed people or even drove them into mental hospitals. Because of this diabolical activity, you shouldnt treat the Warren Occult Museum like a haunted house. It contains the real thing.

One of the spookiest exhibits is the Annabelle doll, the Raggedy Ann doll that inspired the Annabellehorror movies. After experiencing paranormal activity, the dolls owners contacted a priest, who then contacted the Warrens. Ed and Lorraine performed an exorcism over the apartment. Then, they took the doll with them to prevent the inhuman presence inside from invading a human host.

Another of the most famous cases investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren was the Amityville House haunting. The owners of the house, the Lutz family, left the house after only 28 days and called in the Warrens. Ed and Lorraine explained that this house was one of the most terrifying places they had ever visited. They later learned about the very dark history of the land and concluded that demonic forces felt an attraction to the place. The photographs of their experience are in the Warren Occult Museum.

The Museum Contained Artifacts That Had Been Touched By Evil

I Met The REAL Annabelle At The Warren Occult Museum…

The Occult Museum was first opened in 1952 and the Warrens continued to add items that had been touched by evil to their collection, as noted by Atlas Obscura.

The Warrens locked the trinkets away to keep them safe from the public. While there were plenty of knick-knacks locked away in the Occult Museum-including an alleged Vampires coffin and demonic masksthe most popular totem housed in the museum was the Annabelle doll, who sat in her own glass case. Annabelle, who looks nothing like the doll from the Hollywood films, is said to have caused a mans death.

Theres a reason why Annabells appearance was changed. Superstitious Times revealed the dolls look had to change to avoid copyright infringements.

Spera agreed to do an episode of Ghost Adventures with host Zak Bagans, something he later regretted. Bagans claimed something happened to his car after he meeting with Annabelle.

It was all an act for the camera He was saying stuff like, I want to hug her. I feel sorry for her. I feel a connection to her, Spera told the Superstitious Times about Bagans. They cut it out.

Still, Spera said something about the experience terrified Bagans. The problem is it doesnt have to happen right away The devil doesnt have to do what you want it to do, he told the publication. It may happen a year from now and he wont attribute it to the doll. Theyre sly. Theyre cunning. They hate you.
