Glenn H Curtiss Museum
About a mile south of the idyllic village of Hammondsport in New York is a hidden gem dedicated to preserving the history of early aviation. The Glen H. Curtiss Museum is a 60,000-square-foot museum dedicated to the exploits of New York States pioneer aviator and airplane manufacturer whom the facility is named after. The museum has a priceless collection of vintage aircraft and aircraft engines and is a must-visit destination for aviation purists. Among the over twenty aircraft on static display include the JN-4D Jenny biplane, a Curtiss Model MF seagull, Curtiss Model E America flying boat, reproductions of the AEA June Bug, and Curtiss Model D . Visitors can also observe the museum varied collection of vintage automobiles, wooden boats, bicycles, antique fire-fighting equipment, and speak with volunteers working on aircraft restoration. The Glen H. Curtiss Museum is among the few aviation museums in New York State that are open to the public all year round. Interested visitors should visit the museums website for more information.

How Much Are Tickets To The American Museum Of Natural History
All tickets for the AMNH including member tickets, complimentary tickets, and pre-paid pass tickets must be reserved online in advance prior to your visit.
There are three ticket types to the American Museum of Natural History. All permenant exhibits are included in the general admission ticket but any special exhibits require an extra fee.

Museum Exhibits Nyc: Architecture
Located in the world’s foremost vertical metropolis, the Skyscraper Museum celebrates NYC’s rich architectural heritage and examines the historical forces that have shaped its skylines. On view now is RESIDENTIAL RISING: Lower Manhattan since 9/11, which looks at the more than doubling of Lower Manhattan’s residential population in the two decades since the turn of the century. The main space of the gallery is devoted to a dozen featured projects, 9 new and 3 conversions. Many are represented in stunning models, from Frank Gehrys bricolage of form and façade for 8 Spruce St. to marketing-suite extravagance such as for the conversion of One Wall Street. The show will run through January, 2023 admission is free but timed tickets are required.

The American Museum Of Natural History
Located in the heart of Manhattans prestigious Upper West Side, the American Museum of Natural History is one of New Yorks most iconic cultural institutions. The museum is known for its exhibits on the history of the natural world and scientific collections. With over 30 million specimens that include animals, fossils, minerals, rocks, meteorites, and artifacts, its one of the best museums in NYC to learn about the progression of human history.
The American Museum of Natural History is open from 10 am 5:30 pm Wednesday through Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Fotografiska New York is a museum experience for the modern world. The institution hosts its first full-building takeover as it launches David LaChapelle: make Believe. Vibrant images fill all six floors of the museum, with 150 works full of wit, celebrity, and technical innovation. Included are the last-ever portraits of Andy Warhol and Michael Jackson, household-name album covers, and allegorical works in dialogue with the AIDS epidemic. The show weaves together recurring themes of religion, the environment and the play between artifice and nature, gender identity, societal ideals of beauty, and LaChapelles legendary explorations of pop culture fame. The artist collaborated on the shows layout, which takes the form of a journey, interacting with the church-like details of Fotografiskas stunning 1894 neo-Gothic architecture. New York Transit Museum
Dating back to 1904, New York Citys robust transportation system is one of the busiest and oldest in the world. Thankfully, visitors can take a walk down memory lane and explore vintage subway cars parked in a decommissioned subway station.
Located in Brooklyn, the New York Transit Museum is one of the best museums in NYC for kids. The museum covers a century of subway history and each car displays era-appropriate ads, which makes for some fun age-appropriate humor.
Visitors are able to explore the inside of vintage cars, some dating back to 1903, sit inside the drivers cabin and admire vintage walk signs and transit furniture. Make sure to study the impressive photographs that highlight the evolution of the subway system, youll be hooked.
Finally, swing by the gift shop before heading out, its well curated and has tons of fun transit inspired souvenirs.

The Museum of Modern Art, otherwise known as the MoMa, is often referred to the largest as well as most influential museum of modern and contemporary art in the world.

South Street Seaport Museum
If youre looking for a break from the bustle of Midtown, head on down to the South Street Seaport Museum for a chilled-out day by the water.
Located in Lower Manhattan at Pier 16, this maritime museum tells the story of New York City and its relationship with the ocean from its earliest days as a Dutch colony all the way up to present times.
With nautical artifacts, interactive displays, and historical reenactments, theres something for everyone at this underrated attraction plus, with a fleet of historic ships lining the docks and floors, including the 1885 schooner Pioneer 1885 tall ship Wavertree, 1907 lightship Ambrose, and 1930 tugboat W.O. Multiple Ways To Learn About Glass Making
One of my favorite features of the Corning Museum of Glass is the multiple ways you can learn about the glass making process first hand- taking this museum from a collection of gorgeous and historical glass pieces to a premier attraction in the state.
The first experience is at the small-scale the demo stage where you can watch a brief, twenty-minute presentations on how simple glass pieces are made. The on-site artist makes the piece in rapid fire while a staff member narrates the glass making process. Wed be happy if this is all that was available, but the museum offers more than small demos like this one .
The working arena offers a look into larger scale glass production, and here a team of artists puts on larger themed shows, instructional presentations, and, in the off-season, works to assist artists-in-residence who are designing pieces for their next show. Our visit coincided with the latter, and we got to witness part of a week-long takeover of the arena where the artists vision for new and unique glass works came to life. This wasnt a choreographed show full of instructional how-tos or cheesy gimmicks. No, this was an artist actually making pieces for a show right in-front of our eyes. My only regret was that we couldnt stay longer to enjoy this one, as this was something we couldve spent all week enjoying.

The Arts Of Buddhism At The Brooklyn Museum
As of January 21, the Brooklyn Museum will have a new gallery dedicated to the Arts of Buddhism collection. Itll juxtapose artwork with nearly 70 objects from 14 countries dating from the second century C.E. to the early 2000s. Many of the works on display will be sculptural depictions of Buddhas and other enlightened figures, as well as ritual tools and ornaments made for use in Buddhist temples and a small selection of paintings. Among the objects newly on view are several of the Museums masterpieces, including a rare eighth-century image of the goddess Tara from Odisha, India a Chinese silver reliquary dedicated by a Buddhist monk and his mother and a gilt-bronze seated Buddha from southern China. There are also at least nineteen objects that have never before been on display at the museum. In addition, as part of the inaugural installation of the gallery, a pair of important Japanese mandala paintings, dating to the fourteenth century, will be on view for the first time in twenty-five years.
