Flagler Museum Palm Beach Landmark Reopens Tuesday
The Flagler Museum, one of the cultural fixtures of Palm Beach island, will reopen to the public Tuesday, June 9, nearly three months after its closure as a nonessential business. As with most institutions cautiously opening their doors in the midst of a pandemic, the Flaglers leadership has instituted new policies to limit crowding and in-person interactions.
The most dramatic change is the elimination of the walk-up ticket kiosk just outside the museums entrance. For the time being, tickets may only be purchased in advance, through the museums website or via phone, with a credit card or PayPal. In order to restrict crowd sizes in accordance with public-health guidelines, the Flagler will limit each purchase to four tickets.
Visits are by appointment now as well ticket-buyers will be asked to select an entry date and time as they complete their online order. Once they arrive, theyll be required to socially distance and follow one-way fixed routes throughout the property. If youve been to a supermarket and encountered the arrows and exes taped onto the floor, you know the drill. Ditto with face masks, which will be required for all visitors over the age of 2 for the entirety of their times on museum property.

Henry Flagler left his familys Vermont farm at age 14 with 9 cents and 2 ham sandwiches. He obviously did well for himself because he teamed up with John D. Rockefeller to start the Standard Oil Company.
If you arent familiar with the Flagler name and how it relates to Florida, Henry Flagler are responsible for extending the Florida East Coast Railway all the way down the Florida Keys via the Overseas Railway. .
Henry Flagler built Whitehall in 1902 as a wedding present to his new wife, which was also his third wife. Henrys third wife was 34he was 71. She wanted an opulent winter retreat and it was indeed opulent. It has painted ceilings and 24k gold ceiling moldings. It has prime waterfront real estate with views of Downtown West Palm Beach.
The home is quite large and there are lots of rooms to see with ornate ceilings and intricate furniture. Another fun fact of the house is that the original electrician was Thomas Edison.

As a coastal couple, they knew they wanted their wedding to be close to the water as well, and chose the Henry Flagler Museum for their big day. This venue is absolutely incredible! Although Ive photographed on property before, this was my first wedding there and it did not disappoint! It didnt hurt to have an incredible team alongside us for the perfect photos. The Confederacy received little military help from Florida the 15,000 troops it offered were generally sent elsewhere. Stephanie and I headed down to West Palm Beach this past weekend to capture the Flagler Museum wedding of Annie and Wade. Our hearts were so full as we joined them for their incredible day. Alongside their friends and family, we got to witness the most beautiful union of their love. Wade cried no less than 5 times and Annie beamed her warm smile all day long.
Backed by a talented team of vendors, and unbelievable venue in South Florida and their dog, Wake, it was every bit as magical as I could have hoped for.

Defense of Florida’s northern border with the United States was minor during the second Spanish period. The region became a haven for escaped slaves and a base for Indian attacks against U.S. territories, and the U.S. pressed Spain for reform.
Americans of and began moving into northern Florida from the backwoods of and . Though technically not allowed by the Spanish authorities and the Floridan government, they were never able to effectively police the border region and the backwoods settlers from the United States would continue to immigrate into Florida unchecked. These American settlers established a permanent foothold in the area and ignored Spanish authorities. The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, which is also called Whitehall, is a famous historical landmark located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
