From experience, I can assure you that the two-hour queues outside will take a lot of energy away from seeing the Vatican Museums. Keep in mind that, depending on what time you go, you may run the risk of being sold out, so I advise you to go first thing in the morning.

You can add an audio guide either on the day or often as an add-on to one of the online tickets.
