In The Hollywood Cars Museum

So the Liberace Garage is in the Hollywood Car Museum so you cannot do one without the other. The Liberace cars are in the back room of the museum and are pretty impressive considering they run and he used them on stage in his act. The two silver and crystal ones are those that stand out in my head as they are just WOW. The others are just older styled cars that were painted to match his act at the time. Worth some time. Was included in my Liberace Collection Tour ticket.

This display is in the Hollywood Cars museum and they have some of his cars and Gowns plus a piano, candelabrum and othe memorabilla which was great to see and enjoy. All is worth seeing.

This is a car museum in an industrial area that is not overly decorated. There are 3 rooms of cars, mostly from movies that are interesting. The Liberace room has some very unique cars that matched his style. There are a few outfits and posters, but mostly cars. If you like cars from movies, youll find it interesting.

My mom and I liked chatting with Tom at the front desk who gave us a ton of helpful information. Thanks Tom! The Liberace memorabilia was a nice substitute for the expensive, somewhat inaccessible tour to Thriller Villa that books way in advance.

The Fast and Furious movies definitely increased Americas interest in souped-up Japanese Domestic Hot Rod type mini supercars. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse used in the movie was manufactured by Diamond-Star Motors and Mitsubishi Motors with a 2.0 L 4-cylinder 210 HP engine.

The 1995 Eclipse that comes off the assembly line is not very fast. It has a recorded speed of 0-60 in 15.1 reaching 92.5 mph and a top speed of 140 mph. The Fast and Furious movie, starring Paul Walker, is about a Los Angeles police officer who is sent undercover as a street racer and loves his newfound passion.

After he finds his newfound passion, he is conflicted about whether he wants to return to the police force. To everyones sorrow Paul Walker, the actor, was killed in a car crash after filming the movie. But because of the immense success of the Fast and Furious movies, these little Japanese Domestic Hot Rods have skyrocketed in value.

As a matter of fact, the official Hagert Hagerty Price Guide for collectible cars states, the typical 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSXs, like Walkers first car in the film, has been subject to a 73.9 percent climb in price, to about $20,700. We all miss you Paul.

American car culture is like nowhere else. With much of our society designed around the personal auto, cars have become part of our fashion statement and personality. Liberace was a major contributor to this cultural fact, after first taking a car on stage in Las Vegas in 1958, during an automotive convention.

Nowhere in the world are you likely to be seen, photographed, and remembered for your entrance more that at a Las Vegas Strip hotel porte cochere. Its tradition. Its literally how we roll.

The car you ride in is part of what you wear. It conveys your taste, sometimes your value, and most often attitude.
