In Chicago Beer Is More Than Just A Beverage Its History Is Part Of What Gives Our City Its Unique Flavor And Identity Brewing Up Chicago: How Beer Transformed A City Was The Chicago Brewseums First Exhibition Hosted At The Field Museum

The exhibition was presented in four sections and views Chicagos 19th Century urban development through the lens of its brewing industry, and by extension, the immigrant community who built it. From the citys founding in 1833 to the Columbian Exposition sixty years later, the German-American community evolved from strange ethnic outsiders to respected citizens essential to the fabric of the citys existence. By telling the story of the immigrant experience in 1800s Chicago, we make modern day and personal connections for a broad and diverse audience. By presenting a beer narrative that has never been told before, we illustrate how beer is more than just a beverage and a strong cultural force capable of building community and making change.

Chicago Beer Festival: A Night At The Field Museum

If you live in Chicago, youve been experiencing a lot of rain these past few days.

After a rainy day, nothing lightens my mood more than a nice night on the town . If youre anything like me, the Chicago Beer Festival is right up your alley.

The Field Museum will be hosting this years Chicago Beer Festival on March 26th from 7 PM11 PM. What better way to stay out of the Chicago rain and have some fun on a Saturday night?

I recently spoke with the event host, Dan Silberstein, who told me that the event will have food, music, and some of the exhibits at the museum will even be open to attendees. Sampling amazing beer and admiring Sue in the T-Rex exhibit? Sounds like a great night to me! The event will feature up to 70 local and domestic breweries and they are very eager for you to sample their seasonal beers.

General admission is $45.00 and VIP admission is $55.00. VIP admission will include early entry at 7 PM and specialty beers for a full hour before the general admission attendees arrive. Admission will include beer samplings and the food will be sold separately. Attendees will receive 40 taster vouchers when upon arrival for the event. Tickets will not be sold at the door so hurry up and buy your tickets while you still can!

Chicago Beer Festival Moves To The Field Museum

A Day in Chicago Hamilton, Myopic Bookstore, and 2017 Chicago Beer ...

For the first time in the events history, the Chicago Beer Festival will not be taking place in the Great Hall at Union Station. The festival, which will take place on March 26th will be held at Chicagos iconic Field Museum.

With the ceiling of the Great Hall being renovated during 2016, no events will be held at the venue so the Chicago Beer Festival, which is typically held twice a year, has been moved to the famous natural history museum right next to Soldier Field.

Thats just one of a few changes taking place to the festival this year. Normally there would be two sessions for the event, however, since the event has to take place after museum hours, there is only time for one session.

With the museum available only after hours, we had to cap it to one session, event promoter Dan Silberstein said. Well add more breweries to compensate for a larger crowd over one session rather than split over two.

Tickets for event start at $45 plus fees and VIP tickets begin at $55 plus fees. A VIP ticket will allow entrance to the festival at 7pm, while the general ticket allows entrance at 8pm. The festival ends at 11pm for everyone regardless of what ticket you hold. To purchase tickets follow this link here.

One cool aspect to the venue change is that most of the museum will be open during the festival. While specific areas will be closed off, those at the event will be able to wonder the museum and explore the exhibits while drinking craft beer.
