Where Do I Pick Up My Paris Museum Pass
Once you arrive in Paris, you pick up your Paris Museum Pass at the tour office located at 23 Rue d’Aboukir in the 2nd arrondissement, about a 10-minute walk from the Louvre. The office is open every day from 9am to 6pm.
Although you can pick up your pass on the first day you plan to use it, you may want to get it a day or two earlier to spend time exploring the neighborhood around the office.
Attractions nearby include the Palais Royal Garden, designer boutiques surrounding Place des Victoires with its magnificent statue of Louis XIV on horseback, Galerie Vivienne , and several kitchenware stores beloved by local and visiting cooks , G. Detou , MORA , and Dehillerin . Hungry or thirsty? This area is known for its excellent wine bars and small bistros.
Ok But Is The Paris Museum Pass Worth It For Me
As I said earlier, whether or not the Paris Museum Pass is worth it depends on your individual situation, and your tastes and preferences.
In our case it was a resounding YES, the Paris Museum Pass was worth it, hands down!
Since this was my first trip to Paris, and part of the appeal of Paris to me was the world-class museums and the monuments. I knew that I would want to see as many of them as possible, and many of them were included, which made the Paris Museum Pass worth it for me. Some people may find these too touristy to which I say, arent these places touristy for a reason?
If you are like me and want to see as many museums and touristy things as possible, then Id say that the Paris Museum Pass is worth it for you as well. Museum hopping was also the perfect activity for us since we visited Paris during the winter, which was another reason that the Paris Museum Pass was worth it in our case.
However, if youre not a museum person, or you want to get away from doing all the touristy things, then I would reconsider if the Paris Museum Pass is worth it for you. If you see yourself wanting to spend more time outdoors, getting lost in all of Pariss charming alleyways, or sitting in all of the citys lovely parks and gardens, then Im not sure that the Paris Museum Pass is worth it.
Paris Museum Pass Price
The Paris Museum Pass is very moderately priced for the number of attractions it covers, be it the 2 day variant or the 4 day variant. You must keep in mind that Paris is an expensive city and each museum entry costs nothing less than 15 Euros at the very minimum. Considering this scale, the Paris Museum Pass is an absolute boon.

Where Can I Buy The Paris Museum Pass
The Museum Pass can be purchased in advance on-line from the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, but youll still have to pick it up at the central Paris Tourist Office or pay substantial shipping costs.
You can also purchase the Museum Pass after you arrive in Paris. The pass is for sale at many convenient locations including:
- Participating museums and monuments
- Charles de Gaulle Airport, at the tourist information desks
- Orly Airport, at the tourist information desks

Is The Paris Pass Worthwhile
Unless youre not planning to visit any of the citys top attractions, the Paris Museum Pass is usually worthwhile, especially if youre staying in Paris for a long stay. If you get the 6-day pass, it comes to a total of 12.30 per day, so you will be if you visit two monuments or museums a day.
With this pass travellers will not only save money, but will also save time thanks to the fast track access, skipping lines that are sometimes over one-hour long.
Keep in mind that under 18 year olds do not have to pay in most of the citys top attractions so they wont need to buy a Pass. EU citizens who are under 26 can also visit the monuments and museums for free in Paris.

The Louvre: 17
The iconic Louvre, one of the most famous and acclaimed art museums in the world, is definitely a must-see on your Paris itinerary! The Louvre houses some of the most famous works in the world, including Leonardo Da Vincis Mona Lisa, which almost everyone makes a beeline for.
You can literally spend all day here, but even if youre limited on time , definitely spend at least a few hours here. I would plan out the things you want to see ahead of time to maximize your visit!
Musee dOrsay: 16
Another one of Pariss most iconic museums, the Musee dOrsay is also a must on any Paris itinerary. The highlight here is definitely the Impressionist collection, which feature and impressive array of works from masters such as Monet, Cezanne, van Gogh, Manet, Renoir, and more.
The museum is also housed in an old train station, and the building itself is a beauty to take in as well be sure to not miss the giant clock tower on the top floor.

The most famous work at the Musee lOrangerie is definitely Monets massive water lily paintings, which is also definitely the highlight. You should definitely sit and soak in the giant paintings, which depict scenes his garden in Giverny as it turns from light to dark.

Dos And Donts When Getting The Paris Museum Pass
DO Go to the website Parisinfo and decide what you want to see. Add up the entry fees to see if they are more or less than the 66 euros . It is a good idea to have a map handy so you can maximize the number of places to visit in one area.
DO Make a chart. I made a chart of the days of the week we would be using the pass
DO read How to fill out the pass that is printed on the pass.
DONT There is no reason to buy the pass online and pay the shipping charges. Check the website, but I believe you can buy it at the airport or at any Tourist office. We bought ours from the Tourist office in Montmartre. You can buy it as soon as you see an office. It isnt valid until you print the date of your first entry into a museum.
DO Be sure to check the day each museum, etc. is closed. They dont all close the same day.
DO The pass is a great way to avoid TICKET lines NOT security lines. Be sure to check which line you are in! Dont get caught waiting in the wrong line! Ask!! We bypassed a long ticket line at the Arc de Triomphe and walked right up to the top.
DO You can pop into those museums you always wondered about but didnt want to pay the entrance fees just in case.
DONT You dont have to spend a long time in each museum. We were in Les Invalides for 30 minutes or so..long enough to take pictures and marvel at such a vast monument for such a little man!! .

Let The Basilica Of Sacr
Imposing and majestic, the white basilica watches over the city from the summit of Montmartre. Its Romano-Byzantine style contrasts with the other churches in town, such as the Gothic Notre Dame.
One interesting thing about the Sacré-Cur is that the stone used on the exterior, Chateau-Landon, exudes calcite on contact with rain, making it white, like a shiny pearl on top of the hill.
This fact is especially interesting because many churches around Europe are turning black or dark gray due to pollution, but this Parisian lady remains neat and clean.
Anyway, a visit to this basilica is a must during your Paris 4-day itinerary, and maybe youre lucky enough to witness the choir of nuns. Its beautiful!
Remember: No filming or photographing is allowed inside the church. Moreover, the bell tower isnt open to visitors, but you can climb 300 steps to the dome for a small fee.
Pssst: There is a grassy hill in front of the Sacré-Cur where you can picnic. Before that, stop by Boulangerie Raphaëlle to grab some delicious sandwiches or croissants.

The Paris Museum Pass Is Probably Not Worth It For You If:
- You have more than a few days in Paris the Paris Museum Pass is probably not worth it if you are going to have more than 4 days in the city
- You prefer a more relaxed pace of traveling
- You arent a museum person
- You are a budget traveler who probably wouldnt pay for many of these attractions anyway

Relax At Luxembourg Gardens
These 17th-century gardens are split into French gardens and English gardens, which are divided by a large pretty pond.
In addition, there are lots of things to see in this beautiful garden. You can find other interesting things here, such as greenhouses with a collection of stunning orchids and a rose garden, a farm with an array of rare apple and pear trees, and the Medici Fountain.
You dont have to visit all of these areas inside the garden, but just so you know a little more about it.
Nevertheless, Luxembourg Garden is well-taken care of, and if you were wondering what to see in Paris in 4 days, this is a pleasant place to relax a bit. In the summer months, locals enjoy sitting in the Luxembourg Gardens, picnicking with friends, playing chess, tennis, or anything.

- Renovations – Some renovation-related closures last only a few months, but others last for years very frustrating, but to be fair, the results are almost always worth the wait
