What Are Civa Members And Friends Saying About Traveling Exhibitions

Visual art reaches places within us where words cannot go and CIVAs quality of exhibits is unmatched in potential depth of meaningful experiences by the viewers.

Barbara Glenn, Chairman of Visual Arts Team, First Baptist Church, Scottsdale, Arizona

We have enjoyed more CIVA shows than I can count. That probably illustrates that CIVA is our go-to-source for interesting, professional, inspiring creative exhibits. Our congregation and community love these shows. I do not know of another similar resource for touring faith-based art.

Mark Wingfield, Associate Pastor, Wilshire Baptist Church

The thoughtful guide you offered elevated the experience from just another art show any number of which are in Topeka on any given First Friday to a religious experience. The guide encouraged me to view each piece as a spiritual tool. And as I walked through the exhibition with the guide in hand, I was called to consider how art can inform faith, to experience the connections between each work of art and my own religious experience, and to compare my theological perceptions with those of a diverse group of artists.

Anonymous viewer, Seeing the Savior, First Presbyterian Church, Topeka, Kansas

How Is Shipping Coordinated

Underground Adventure

While our banner exhibits ship via FedEx or UPS, most Envoy exhibits are crated and ship by van line. A staff Envoy will help you coordinate shipping the exhibit to and from your venue. We coordinate shipping for most exhibits through Champagne Logistics, an agent of STI, who has been working with Exhibit Envoy to the highest standards since 1988.

If you choose to do so, you may coordinate your own inbound shipping. We require that your chosen company is licensed, bonded, and insured. The vehicle must be air ride. Straps or cargo bars to secure the crates during transit are preferred. A climate-controlled truck may be required for some exhibits. You must notify Exhibit Envoy of the company you select and provide all shipping details including the company name, company contact information, and pick-up/delivery dates of the shipment.

What Does It Cost To Rent A Traveling Exhibition

The costs to rent a traveling exhibit vary widely depending on the size, complexity, subject matter, and underlying objectives of exhibition owners.

To visualize the diversity of costs, we look at the Traveling Exhibitions Database . It includes a database of 768 current traveling exhibitions available in the U.S. The following is the distribution of sizes vs. costs of traveling exhibits:

The X-axis is the size of the traveling exhibit, in square feet. Note that while prices vary widely, if we look at the subject areas, only science/technology exhibitions and one natural history exhibition reach prices of ~$200k and above. Anthropology maxxes out at $100k, and childrens exhibits top out around $75k. The above graph represents N=332 records from the TED database from Informal Learning Experiences . Some prices are for 1 month, and some for 3-4 month terms most 1-month rentals have a lower per-month cost for additional months. These are traveling exhibits that require open space , and excludes exhibitions that do not publicize their asking prices. Also, according to Mac West, principal of ILE, the TED data does not include the blockbusters i.e., large exhibitions from major museum consortia or large scale commercial vendors, like the Harry Potter exhibit discussed earlier in the week.
