About the Museum of the American Revolution

The museum holds an expansive collection of art, manuscripts and printed works from the nations Revolutionary Period. It also displays a range of objects gathered from and pertaining to the Revolutionary War, including British, French and American weapons used in battle and personal diaries written in camp.

One of the most anticipated pieces in the museum is General Washingtons Headquarters Tent, an iconic piece of history where President George Washington slept and made world-changing decisions. The tent is part of a multimedia presentation about Washington.

The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown tells the story of the nations founding, from the twilight of the colonial period to the dawn of the Constitution and beyond. Exciting indoor galleries feature period artifacts, immersive environments and films, including The Siege of Yorktown, with a 180-degree surround screen and dramatic special effects.

Families and visitors to Philadelphia this year can once again enjoy two of the city’s historic museums with the purchase of one ticket.

The National Constitution Center and the Museum of the American Revolution have brought back a joint ticket program, which allows guests to check out both institutions at a discounted price.

The collaboration between both museums, located just a half-mile away from each other in Old City, was originally started in 2017 before the program was paused at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The joint tickets are available for purchase through both institutions online or in-person. Guests who purchase tickets online must select an entry date and time. The tickets are valid for access to all exhibits at both museums.

Adult joint tickets are available for $29 and children’s tickets cost $19. Family packages for two adults and two children are $90.
