About The Los Angeles Museum Of Love
Do you know what your partner would salvage from a shipwreck? Do you know what your partner’s favorite scents are? If your partner had to choose between the words ketchup and mustard, do you know which one they would choose and why? How does your partner see themselves on the playground as a child? What are your partner’s favorite memories of your time together? Have you taken the time to create a couple’s bucket list?
The Los Angeles Museum of Love has created a date night where couples enter the museum and go through a series of rooms that simulate the different stages of a relationship. In each room, there are interactive activities where they learn about one another. There are many photo opportunities, games to play and activities to complete. Each couple is presented with a memory book to record the details of their adventure. The experience should take from 45 minutes to 2 hours. It is our hope that couples leave with a deeper appreciation of the intricacies of one another and long-lasting memories of their unique experience at our establishment. Please note– There are no walk-ins. Entrance is granted only with reservations due to us only allowing in guests every 15 minutes. This is to ensure a degree of personal space between patrons. At Pretend City, kids have the chance to be actively engaged and learn how the real world works. Pretend city describes itself as the world in a nut-shell. 17 interactive exhibits and activities allow kids to practice problem solving, critical thinking, math skills, and more. Exhibits include an art studio, a cafe, a post office, a grocery store, and more. Admission is $12.50 for each visitor infants one year old and younger are free. The Museum is a nut-free facility.
The Los Angeles Museum Of Love Is Open
The Los Angeles Museum of Love is a space that is dedicated to the adventure of connection! We are now able to open due to the fact that we are a 3000 square foot space and we only allow 8 people to be in the building at any time. The museum moves in one direction and there is plenty of room for social distancing. While Metropolis II, by the artist Chris Burden, is sure to fascinate kids , and the outdoor sculpture gardens with the giant rock suspended over a walkway are fun to look at and run around, its worth noting that none of the art on display right now at LACMA is touchable, nor are all exhibits suitable for all children. A few months ago, a 3-foot-tall dinosaur piñata sat in front of a house in California. The piñata, unbroken but devoid of any candy, was too cute to throw out, but since it was a birthday present from an ex-boyfriend, its owner didn’t want to keep it around either.
Now it’s one of the relics at the Museum of Broken Relationships, Hollywood’s first crowdsourced museum, which opened in early June. “This is where I can put him, and he’ll be OK,” said the woman, who donated her piñata anonymously.
“Some relationships endwith lovers, with loved ones, with dreams and with cities,” reads its website, Brokenships.la. “If you’ve wished to unburden the emotional load by erasing everything that reminds you of that painful experience by throwing it all awaydon’t. Give it to us.”
Though originally created as a temporary exhibit in Croatia in 2006 by co-founders Olkina Vistica and Drazen Grubisic , the Museum of Broken Relationships has since visited dozens of cities all over the world. When American lawyer John Quinn happened to check out the museum’s permanent home in Zagreb while on a family vacation, he knew the concept would resonate on the West Coast. He reached an agreement with Vistica and Grubisic and began construction of a sister site in Hollywood, surrounded by wax museums, neon-lit restaurants and the Walk of Fame.

The Los Angeles Museum of Love is an independently owned and operated museum featuring interactive exhibits that foster social connections.
Theme exhibits alternate year-round focusing on strengthening the bond between family, friends, and couples.
Unmasking Pride. During Pride month, founder Professor Amy B. Sweetman will be hosting an art competition that is now in the process accepting submissions.
The competition celebrates the dual alignment of the lifting of mask requirements in Los Angeles and the annual Los Angeles Pride Parade timeframe.
Artists Submission is free, with art pieces being no larger than an 18 x 24. Many entries will be displayed in the Museum Of Love from June 9 through June 23.
Guests of the museum are invited to vote for their favorite two entries, with the winners being announced on June 24.
The top prize winner will receive $500, second place $250, third place $150, plus two special mentions that the museum will choose.
The Museum of Love will display artists names and contact info. Artists are encouraged to submit in the medium of their choice, but works must be easily displayable in the museum.
Artists submitting from out of town may send digital files. The museum will print it at 13 x 19 or less according to their instructions.
Artists will retain all rights to their artwork, and works will be available for pick up at the most convenient times the following week.
