A better option is to buy your Vatican Museum tickets through a reseller. I regularly use both Get Your Guide and Viator.

The sites are fast and easy to use. They accept many forms of payment that the Vatican does not, including PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Money.

The tickets from these resellers arent that much more expensive than the Vatican site itself. Plus, theyre a good option if the Vatican website is sold out or you want to book early.

Reseller tickets can usually be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance, if need be. Ive had to cancel a couple trips recently, so this is a valuable benefit indeed.

Vatican Museums Rome: Tickets, guided tour, admission and opening hours ...

The good old trick of having an early start actually works. You can get in the Sistine Chapel as early as 7:30 am. However, in order to have the privilege of getting early access, you have to buy your tickets to the Sistine Chapel through a tour company in other words youll have to join a guided tour. This means that early access tours also include a guided visit of St. Peters Basilica.

Prices of early morning Vatican tours start at $100, depending on which option you get.

The Vatican, also called Vatican City has many special features. It is not only the smallest state in the world, it is also considered the state with the fewest inhabitants worldwide.

It is also very unusual that the pope is the head of state and the official language is Latin. I practised Latin in school for 4 years, but even with the big Latinum in my pocket, I would certainly have communication problems
