The Museum of Flight is pleased to announce the opening of a new traveling exhibition, The Walt Disney Studios and World War II, a retrospective of The Walt Disney Studios extensive contributions to the Allies World War II effort. Curated by World War II historian Kent Ramsey and the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, this immersive exhibition will be on view in the William E. Boeing Red Barn®.

If youre an aviation fan, visiting the Museum of Flight is a no-brainer. But even for people like us who arent really into planes, the museum offers an impressive and massive collection of amazing machines and some insight into the modern marvel of human flight. Where else can you step on board a space shuttle, Air Force One, and a Concorde jet all in the course of 30 minutes? We think its one of Seattles best and most unique attractions, and we recommend it to adults and families who enjoy history, science, and engineering.

Boeing Tour/museum Of Flight

No. Museum of Flight is not part of Boeing just south of downtown Seattle.

The Future of Flight is the Boeing Everett plant tour and it is 31 miles north of the Museum of Flight. There are some small exhibits at the Future of Flight which I found to be interesting. I like the tour but since 9/11 it seems to me that you don’t get as close to the assembly line as you used to and I thought it was shorter. If I only had to do one it would definitely be the Museum of Flight.

The Museum of Flight is an air and space museum was established in 1965 and is one of the largest museums of its type in the world.

The Museum of Flight traces its foundation to 1965 with the recovery and restoration of a 1929 Boeing 80A-1.

In 1975, the museum acquired the 1909 all-wooden William E. Boeing Red Barn, the original home of the Boeing company, which was relocated to its current location at the southwestern end of Boeing Field.

Today, the museums gallerys structure is built in a space frame lattice structure that holds more than 20 hanging aircraft, and housing more than 150 aircraft in its collection.

The museums education programs grew significantly with the creation of a Challenger Learning Center in 1992. It includes a mockup NASA mission control, and experiments from all areas of space research.
