The Mennello Museum of American Art is an art museum located in the Howard Phillips‘ house in Loch Haven Park next to Lake Formosa in Orlando, Florida. The museum displays paintings and sculptures and contains at its core a permanent collection of paintings by Earl Cunningham . The Cunningham collection was donated by Marilyn and Michael Mennello of Winter Park, Florida. Other exhibitions show works of traditional and contemporary American artists.

The museum opened November 22, 1998, and is owned and operated by the city of Orlando.

The Mennello Museums design is both futuristic and timeless. The design mirrors the objective of the artwork inside: It tells a story and furthers the Museums mission to be a place of education, culture, and inspiration. More than just a building, it is a civic place for social interaction, bringing people closer to art, each other and to nature, providing an opportunity for new, immersive, art experiences. The building is organized as a series of highly engaging spaces where the Museums mission of using art to connect people to the world around them can unfold. The 40,000 square-foot expansion integrated around the current 12,000 square-foot Orlando, FL museum building. The expansion will Increase the number and quality of programs, opportunities, and amenities to better serve our growing audiences. It will also create a cultural destination on beautiful Lake Formosa designed to preserve and reimagine our green space, the intimacy of the Dr. Phillips Home, walking and bike paths, and sculpture garden. It will expand family-friendly and diverse art education programs to serve the community, provide a 250 seat multi-purpose space that will accommodate 400+ for standing indoor & outdoor events.

Drawing from public and personal collections, this exhibit starts from a historical perspective, with pieces by master folk artists such as Nellie Mae Rowe and Clementine Hunter. A fresh perspective is added by new artists coming from a folk tradition, including Lucy Hunnicutt and Laurie Popp, among others. Come see a variety of artistic media, from traditional painting and sculpture to textiles and found-object sculpture. The Mennello Museum is the first venue to showcase the new traveling exhibition based on the memoirs of Rob Storter , which were published in 2000 as the book Crackers in the Glade. Storter came from a family of early settlers in the village of Everglade. He was a self-taught artist and sketched pictures of his rural lifestyle and environment, and annotated them with stories, often bemoaning the wilderness that was being lost to development.
