Job: Arts & Culture Educator

Boston Childrens Museum is seeking an individual with a passion for arts and cultural experiences to join our Educator team. The Arts and Culture Educator reporting directly to the Senior Director, Arts and Culture will work with team members and others within the Museum to create and support the delivery of child- and family-centered performing arts, culture and identity-based programming, and other educational experiences that reflect the goals and philosophies documented in Boston Childrens Museums Learning Framework, which emphasizes play and exploration in service of learning. Experience development may include organizing or facilitating performances, workshops/classes, activities, programs, exhibit components, school trips, curricular materials, digital content, or other resources for use by educators outside of the Museum.

REGULAR-FT, EXEMPT-SALARY, 35.00hrs./wk.

The ideal candidate has a strong experience working with young children ages birth to 10 and their caregivers and educators, an understanding of informal educational settings, the ability to share knowledge with other colleagues, and the desire to reflect on their work and implement changes based on feedback. In addition to the ability to build strong working relationships with internal colleagues, as well as a proven record of networking and working with community organizations.

Research And Evaluation Manager For Boston Childrens Museum

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement plans for research and evaluation around learning experiences inside and outside the Museum .
  • Work with colleagues who develop educational experiences to develop measurable goals and outcomes, and culturally responsive evaluation plans, and instruments necessary to assess learning experiences.
  • Implement evaluation plans, conducting the evaluation and/or training and supporting colleagues or interns and/or liaising with outside contractors on select projects. Manage data and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and present evaluation reports and results to colleagues. Recommend programmatic direction and/or modifications to increase impact, and support colleagues in determining strategic direction.
  • Liaise with external researchers and evaluators who are collaborating with the Museum to support specific projects and research initiatives.

Director Of Community Engagement

The Director of Community Engagement reporting directly to the VP of External Relations is responsible for overseeing and advancing the Museums vision for community engagement and ensuring its understanding of family and community interests, needs and priorities. The DCE is tasked with managing and growing existing partner-based initiatives, supporting and leveraging the Museums community focused partnerships and collaborations across other departments, and works closely with the Senior Directors of the Education and Exhibit teams to align and mobilize the critical stakeholder relationships that support the mutually beneficial needs, goal and priorities of both the community partners and the Museum.

The DCE plays a key role in managing internal and external projects as well as several grant-funded initiatives that fall within this role. The ability to listen to needs and feedback, and develop plans and strategies in work collaboratively to meet the needs of others and the Museum is critical.
