Originally named as San Antonio Childrens Museum, The DoSeum attracts children of all ages, with parents accompanying them, for some educational fun. Exhibits, programs, and even field trips will encourage kids to learn or discover science, technology, engineering, mathematics, arts, and literacy. Exhibits include Sensations Studio where children can play with lights and sounds, Little Town that simulates a city for children, and Spy Academy that teach kids intelligence through missions.

The establishment can be traced to 1993 with a mission to ignite curiosity in young minds through fun, hands-on exploration. Today, The Discovery Science Place is a museum that stays true to the first missionâbecoming a museum for children to discover the world with fun and engaging exhibits, programs, and events. Children can play with train sets, let their imagination wander, and explore a simulated town in Hometown, USA. They can also explore a simulated cave and do some wall climbing in Discovery Landing.

With branches all over the USA, this play space that puts data and science in playtime was first created in Frisco, Texas in 2008. Play Street Museum is a place that imitates a city for children to interact with. Bring your children to activities such as dressing up and playing roles, doing arts and crafts, playing building toys, and even discovering new things along the way.

This is a humble space for children that combines excitement and education. The Woodlands Childrens Museum is a place of diversity where children of any ethnicity and culture are welcomed to play. Exhibitions that you can find in the museum are The Remax Play House where kids can play pretend, The Market that can serve as a simulation of a supermarket, building structures with foam blocks in Dream + Build, or discover what water can do in Water Play.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum

With the tagline of a playground for your mind, Childrens Museum of Houston is a place where children can have fun and learn subjects such as science, history, health, and human development. There are plenty of exhibits that kids can choose from. Children ages zero to two can play in Tot*Spot where they can do some active play while discovering something new. Older kids can discover the outdoors with plants and woodland in the EcoStation or have fun and also learn by getting wet in FlowWorks. Play in a simulated town called KidTropolis, get into engineering in Constructioneering, learn Korean culture in Heart and Seoul, do physical obstacles in PowerPlay or Challenge Course, and learn science in Power Science Lab.

Waco’s chamber of commerce launches new talent initiative

Since 2002, the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum has hosted thousands of kids from around the world as they creatively explore hands-on exhibits and take part in interactive workshops and classes about science, history, art, and living. Throughout the year, the museum also brings out its own 8-foot inflatable, walk-through lung exhibit called the MEGA Lung that allows students to learn more about the lung, its functions, and health problems related to asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer, pneumonia, and pulmonary embolism.

Northeast Texas Childrens Museum Moves To New Location

NortheastTexas Children’s Museum turned over the keys to its home at A& M-Commerce onOctober 18, marking the end of its 12-year lease. From its on-campus location,the museum has served thousands of area children.

Asthe Children’s Museum continues to grow, plans have been made to move to alarger location on Highway 11 in Commerce. Accordingto Children’s Museum Director Sharline Freeman, purchasing the former Polarabuilding and seven acres gives us more space for growth and more options forour future.

Despitethe move, A& M-Commerce and the Children’s Museum look forward to continuingtheir long-standing partnership. A& M-CommerceAssociate Vice President Paula Hanson, who also serves as vice president of theChildren’s Museum board, emphasized that the university values communityeducation initiatives and fosters strong community ties. Weplan to continue to partner with the museum to promote Commerce and our focuson education, Hanson said.

Accordingto Alicia Currin, former board member for the Children’s Museum and currentvice-president at A& M-Commerce, Having the museumnear the university has been beneficial for both parties. We are true partners,working in a collaborative nature.

Currin explained that the Children’s Museumdraws visitors to the university who may not otherwise visit campus, andconversely, the university supports museum events, provides student volunteersand offers cooperative event scheduling at the university’s facilities.

Northeast Texas Childrens Museum

The Northeast Texas Childrens Museum provides opportunities for a creative learning experience with over 35 hands on indoor and outdoor exhibits and planned activities. The Northeast Texas Childrens Museum welcomes school Field Trips during the school year . Depending on the grade and number of children, two to four five-minute science-based lessons or shows are taught before students play in a section of the museum. Students will rotate through the museum, allowing them to play in each section after the lesson.

Northeast Texas Childrens Museum A Museum Just For Kids

The Northeast Texas Childrens Museum provides opportunities for a playful and creative learning experience. The Museums hands-on exhibits and planned activities serve to enhance and supplement classroom curriculum.

Since beginning in 2002, the Northeast Texas Childrens Museum has invested in providing hands-on, minds-on opportunities for children.

The summer is a busy time at the Northeast Texas Childrens Museum. More than 6,000 people visit the museum over the summer. Each year new exhibits are added thanks to the donations of local businesses. Exhibits are also provided by national corporations who fund science and math programs.

A new drive-through bank has just arrived at the Childrens Museum. Cypress Bank is opening a new branch at the Museum. Children will be able to deposit money by a play car. We thank Cypress Bank and look forward to this exciting new exhibit. The museum offers activities for children and adults that include preschool programs, educational programs, special events and fund-raisers.

Throughout the year, the Northeast Texas Childrens Museum offers special events, activities and summer camps.

Official Best Of recently recognized the Northeast Texas Childrens Museum as the Best Creative Childrens Experience in Texas.

The childrens museum is located at 2501 Highway 50, the NW corner of Culver and Hwy 50, Commerce, TX 75428. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 to 4:30.
