Coyoacn & Xochimilco Tour

We’ll meet at the selected meeting point, then head south of Mexico City to Coyoacán, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the capital. This area is famous as the home of historic figures including Leon Trotsky, Octavio Paz, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.

Before arriving at this area of the city, we’ll make a stop in case you want to buy some breakfast. We’ll take advantage of this break to explain how silver is made in Mexico.

Then the tour will arrive at Coyoacán, where we’ll learn all about its thousand-year history, from the settlement of the first communities in the high plains of Mesoamerica to its establishment as the seat of power following the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.

Strolling through cobbled streets and picturesque squares, we’ll enjoy the impressive 16th century baroque mansions typical of the area. Then we head to the Universidad Autónoma de México, to admire the majestic architecture of the largest university in Latin America.

We’ll also visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, located in the famous Casa Azul in Coyoacán. We’ll delve into the intimate universe of the Mexican artist visiting the house where she was born, where she did much of her work and where she died. Afterwards, you will have time to get lunch in Coyoacán.

At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped back off at the original meeting points in Mexico City.

After a comfortable pick up in your hotel in Mexico City, you will start this full day tour through Mexico City.
