Mission Concepcion
Franciscan friars established Mission Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de Acuña in 1716 as Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de los Hainais in East Texas. The mission was originally meant to be a base for converting the Hasinai to Catholicism and teaching them what they needed to know to become Spanish citizens. The friars moved the mission in 1731 to San Antonio. After its relocation most of the people in the mission were Pajalats who spoke a Coahuiltecan language. Catholic Mass is still held every Sunday.

This hotel is located on a quiet section of San Antonio’s famous River Walk — a network of walkways with shops, restaurants, and sights along the San Antonio River. There are many cultural attractions within walking distance, including the San Antonio Museum of Art , the DoSeum , and Majestic Theater . Both the central area of the River Walk — with popular restaurants and bars — and the Alamo are about a 20-minute walk away. There aren’t a ton of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity, though Paramour is a popular rooftop bar and The Brooklynite is a hip cocktail bar. The popular Pearl Brewery area, with restaurants, bars, boutiques, and farmers’ markets, can be reached in 16 minutes by foot. The San Antonio International Airport is a 15-minute drive away and the AT& T Center is an 11-minute drive. The hotel only offers valet parking for a fee.
