- Thermal temperature screenings for all guests
- Hand sanitizer available every few feet
- Social distancing signage on floors, strictly enforced by employees, alongside limited capacity
- Face masks are required for all guests over the age of 2
- The tasting room has a modified temporary experience thats in compliance with the CDC guidelines. Coke employees assist guest in limited tastings, plus guests can take tastings to-go at the end of their visit
The Wonderful World Of The Coca
Years ago, I was a major Diet Coke addict . It was a bad habit of mine that I worked to break, and while I have not had any type of coke in 8+ years, I couldnt resist visiting the World of Coca-Cola museum when I had some free time Saturday morning during my visit to Atlanta.
I was there at the opening at 9am and I highly recommend visiting at that hour since there were no lines or crowds anywhere.
Since this was during the holiday season, it is decorated with red and white lighted ornaments and other holiday elements at the front of the museum. It would have been really pretty at nighttime.
The cost for the visit was $17 per adult which gave access to all of the exhibits and the tasting room.

The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta is Cokes attempt to share the brands story with Coke-lovers from around the world.
At the World of CocaCola, visitors experience the worlds most famous beverage in a dynamic, multimedia attraction and get closer than ever before to the vault that houses its secret formula.
They see thousands of coke artifacts from the last 100 years, witness the bottling process, and taste around 100 Coca-Cola beverages from around the world.

Getting There And Parking
If you drive, you can use the parking garage located at: 126 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30313.
According to the World of Coca-Cola website, the rate is $10 for up to 4 hours of parking, and $15 for 4+ hours.
Its fairly easy to take MARTA as well. Exit at either Peachtree Center Station or GWCC Station . You can find a MARTA guide here, with walking directions from both stations.
Showcasing The History Of The Worlds Most Popular Soft Drinks
Pharmacist John S. Pemberton created the original Coca-Cola formula for customers to his soda fountain. When Coca-Cola purchased a 20-plus acre former industrial site in downtown Atlanta, it dubbed the location Pemberton Place in homage to the creator of Coke.
In a massive urban renewal project, nine acres of the site were donated for the Georgia Aquarium, which opened in 2005, and 2.5 acres were given for the Center for Civil and Human Rights, opening in 2010. World of Coca-Cola opened on the site in 2007 at roughly double the size of its former museum.
More than 1,000 artifacts are exhibited, including many never on public display. Theres an array of vintage Coke vending machines, a Coca-Cola can that made its way onboard the Space Shuttle, and a 1880s-era soda fountain similar to one where Pemberton sold his headache remedy made of coca leaf extract and distilled water, charging 5 cents a glass.
The exhibit of the first contour glass Coke bottle explains that the shape was a mistake. The designer looked up coca leaf in an encyclopedia, but found cocoa tree instead. The distinctive bulbous shape which became one of the best-known symbols in the world resembles a cocoa tree seed pod. Problem is, cocoa is used to make chocolate, not Coca-Cola.

The Tasting Room may be the talk of the town but WOCC has so much more than that. Visitors can enter a vault that holds the Coca-Cola secret formula. For over 125 years, Coke has managed to keep their recipe on lockdown and this interactive exhibit explains its origins. This section of World of Coca-Cola is your opportunity to get closer to the famous secret formula than ever before!
This part of the experience also has various interactive experiences such as the Virtual Taste Maker, Bubble-izer, etc.
Weird Coke Flavors Around The World: Trying All 60 Varieties
The last stop in the World of Coca Cola is Taste It!, the tasting room with self-serve soda machines featuring all the odd Coke flavors from around the world. I grabbed a cup and took small sippy portions of each and every drink.

The Smart Apple flavor from China was delicious. Interestingly, Chiles apple version was very different, and it wasnt sweet enough. Goes to show how people in different parts of the world have different taste.
Fanta Melon Frosty from Thailand was great, with a nice fruity melon flavor. I was excited by the idea of Fanta Exotic from Uganda, but it wasnt very good. I didnt enjoy very many of the African flavors, come to think of it. The Tanzania, Mozambique and Djibouti offerings left a lot to be desired.
So many Coke flavors around the world to choose from!
As weird Coke flavors go, by far the worst was Beverly from Italy. I had even been warned about this flavor and urged not to try it, so of course I had to. I would describe it as a lovely mix of sparkling wine mixed with toilet water and dishwater. It was revolting!
Most of the World of Coke flavors were fruity and refreshing, though. The winner of my 60-flavor taste test was Bibo Candy Pine-Nut from South Africa, which had a sweet coconut taste with no fizz. When I make it to Cape Town, I know what Ill be drinking!

This is an annual promotion that runs each year in March, to coordinate with spring break.
In 2022, the promotion runs from March 14th to March 31st. It allows you to buy four general admission tickets for $50 plus tax.
If you buy four adult tickets, thats a total savings of $22.

You must purchase tickets online at World of Cokes website. You cant get the deal at the box office.
You can buy up to two 4-packs per transaction, for a maximum of 8 tickets at the special price.
There is no discount for single tickets youll need to gather friends and family together to use the 4-pack. And if you bring a fifth wheel, that ticket will be full price.
The special-price tickets must be used between March 14th and March 31st. They are not valid on other dates.
World Of Coke Tickets

In The Loft, you can see over 200 historical and international artifacts, like a Coca-Cola syrup urn from 1896, and learn about Coca-Colas rich history from an official World of Coke ambassador.

My kids love visiting and playing with all of the hands-on experiences. While visiting the WOCC is best known for their tasting room, but theyve got so much more to offer than that! You can walk the distance in around 10 minutes.

From both the stations, in 10-12 minutes, you can walk to World of Coca-Cola.
If you prefer a bus to get to the Coke Museum in Atlanta, board bus number 32 from either Civic Center MARTA bus station or Five Points MARTA station.

World Of Coca Cola Hours
From Monday to Friday, World of Coca-Cola opens at 10 am, and on weekends it opens early at 9 am.
From Monday to Thursday, the museum closes at 5 pm, but on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, it remains open till 7 pm to cater to the weekend crowd.
The last entry is always 2 hours before closure.

The World Of Coke Tasting Room
The tasting room the kids love so much is also a lesson in world cultures. The bitter aperitif Beverly might not be popular in the US, but is in Europe. Even the gift shop offers educational opportunities in recycling. I love all the up cycled products from pop-top purses, to the gorgeous bottle chandeliers. And who doesnt love tasting beverages from around the world?
