Remote Patching Enter Ivanti Security Controls

The museum purchased the Ivanti Security Controls solution and started using it within a week for the purpose of patching browsers, applications and the Windows laptop operating systems remotely.

According to Rob, one of the major benefits of adding Security Controls is the ability to add newer browsers without users noticing. If theres a critical vulnerability in one of the browsers, Robs team tells Workspace Control that if the browser is older than version XYZ, then disable it so its out of the Start menu and unavailable to users.

ISEC patch management having detected the older XYZ browser version thats no longer safe installs the newer version in the background without users noticing. And Workspace Control recognizes there is an updated version and can re-enable the browser icon. In the morning, when users log on, Workspace Control notifies them that Chrome has been disabled. Users can opt to use Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc., so they can still do their work. ISEC updates Chrome at the back end during lunch when users step away from their laptops. When they return, Chrome has been updated and a refresh is being triggered the moment users unlock their screens.

Today, patches of all the browsers, operating systems and applications on the museums Windows machines are performed successfully, as well as for a large portion of its RHEL machines. Rob noted that the flexibility in patching the different OS machine types and when to do so is ideal.

Vase With Red Poppies

Vase with Red Poppies by Vincent van Gogh depicts one of the artists favorite subjects. Flowers were the subject of many of van Goghs paintings in Paris, and one of his many interests and fascinations.

Van Gogh wrote to his brother: You will see that by making a habit of looking at Japanese pictures, you will come to love to make up bouquets and do things with flowers all the more.

Van Gogh advised his sister, Wil, to cultivate her garden to find joy and meaning in life. His paintings of sunflowers in vases are among his most well-known flower paintings. After he left Paris, van Gogh painted his second group of Sunflowers in Arles.

Van Gogh Museuma Bit Of History

Vincent van Gogh was very close to his younger brother Theo . And it was Theo who managed the artists estate as well as spreading the word about his work and keeping his memory alive. Unfortunately, he only lived for about a year after his brothers death. And so it fell to his widow Jo van Gogh-Bonger to carry on with this important work. But the Van Gogh Museum was actually founded by their son, Vincent Willem van Gogh , who had been named after his uncle. And its doors first opened in 1973.

The museum building was designed by renowned Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld. Despite spanning four floors, this main building soon wasnt big enough to cope with the crowds of visitors that flocked to the museum.

In 1999, Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa designed a new exhibition wing to expand the ever-popular museum. The same architect went on to design the stunning glass-fronted entrance hall that has connected the two parts of the museum since 2015.

The bulk of the collection belongs to the Vincent van Gogh Foundation, which is still represented by the Van Gogh family.

Portrait Of Camille Roulin By Vincent Van Gogh

    Entrance Building Van Gogh Museum

Portrait of Camille Roulin by Vincent van Gogh is a portrait of the youngest son of the postman Joseph Roulin, a friend of Van Goghs. When his portrait was painted, Camille was eleven years of age.

The Roulin Family all had their portraits painted by Vincent van Gogh in Arles between 1888 and 1889. The family consisted of Joseph, his wife Augustine, and their three children: Armand, Camille, and Marcelle.

Although Van Gogh loved to paint portraits, it was difficult for financial reasons for him to find models. So, finding an entire family that agreed to sit for multiple paintings was a bonus.

Joseph Roulin became a good and supportive friend to Van Gogh during his stay in Arles. Van Gogh truly admired Joseph and went to great lengths to capture his character.
