Titanic Pigeon Forge Video Tour

Titanic First Class Passenger Isidor Straus Watch FOB Locket to be on exclusive display, valued at $250,000, at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Great-Great Grandson to present this amazingArtifact to the Titanic Museum in Pigeon ForgePublic has not seen this Watch Fob* Locket since 1912.

Privately held, one of Titanics most important and emotionally charged artifacts ever recovered is the watch fob locket belonging to famed New York merchandizer and co-owner of Macys Department Store, Isidor Straus. His story is one of legend, and were excited to tell it while in the presence of his most personal possession, says Mary Kellogg Joslyn, COO/Co-owner of the Titanic Museum Attractions in Pigeon Forge, TN and Branson, MO.

The locket was found tucked in the marketing moguls vest pocket when he was pulled, lifeless, from the sea. It has remained in the possession of Straus family descendants ever since, never to be seen by the public until now, explains Kellogg-Joslyn.

To me, this beautiful Titanic artifact is important because it was witness to one of maritime historys greatest disasters and one of its greatest love stories, as well. Isidor and his beloved wife, Ida, were inseparable in life and in death. When she was given the chance to board a lifeboat and save herself, she refused to go without Isidor, saying, We have lived together for many years. Where you go, I go.

Titanic: World’s Largest Museum Attraction

“When you put your hand in the water, move it around. It makes a big difference.”

Third Class stateroom “set a new standard of comfort” according to its narrated exhibit.

Titanic ship’s officer Steve stands with us on the refrigerated bridge of the doomed ocean liner — the all-indoors replica in landlocked Tennessee — helping us understand what it’s like to splash around in the sub-freezing North Atlantic. The 28-degree water circulating in a trough is one of the attraction’s interactive exhibits. When you dip in your hand it’s cruelly cold, but when you move it around — like you would if you were trying to swim — it feels like a bayonet is being stabbed into your arm. Ow, it hurts. “Now,” said Steve, “you know exactly what it felt like.”

Officer Steve is one of the many costumed crew members that wander the Titanic attraction, popping up seemingly out of nowhere, ready to answer questions or call for assistance on their Bluetooth headsets if you stump them, which probably doesn’t happen very often. We normally steer clear of role-playing interpreters, but at Titanic Pigeon Forge they’re actually helpful, and they don’t try to pretend that you’ve somehow traveled back in time to 1912.

That sinking feeling: interactive decks let you discover when you would have tumbled to your doom.

Tourists stand in the path of the Tennessee Titanic, which isn’t going anywhere.

The Grand Staircase reproduction cost over $1 million, but fans of the film still think it’s too small.

The special Exhibit of the Jewish People who Lost their Lives. The Violins of Hope it was so emotional. If Ginger is their you need to talk to her she is so knowledgeable.I have been to many Exhibits and have heard many speakers, BUT Ginger has a passion for her job. If you have a chance to go while that Exhibit is at the Titanic it is a 5 star!!

Museum was interesting and well organized. The grand staircase is absolutely beautiful. Only downside is the audio tour is self guided but you are continually held back to let the next room clear out. I understand they were busy, but it would have been much nicer to walk at our own pace. Would definitely recommend though.

This isnt necessarily an entire day type of attraction. But Id say it could at least be a half-day attraction if you stretch it out.

This also depends on what type of vacationer you are. I like to stretch my dollar and take my time.

At the very least, I would say plan to spend at least 2-3 hours at the Titanic Museum.

Anything short of that, and you may not be getting your moneys worth.

The Titanic Museums Collection Of Artifacts Is Valued At $4 Million

All of the artifacts on display at the Titanic Museum were actually aboard the RMS Titanic in 1912. Some of the items were found floating in the water or on victims bodies, while others were carried off the ship by survivors. The Titanic Museum is home to more than 400 historic artifacts, which are cumulatively valued at $4 million.

What Do You Do At The Titanic In Pigeon Forge

The Titanic Museum

Like with many museums, you look at the displays, enjoy a variety of interactive exhibits and learn about its history.

Interactive exhibits include shoveling coal in the boiler room and learning how to send an SOS signal.

You can take a guided tour on the sloping decks and see the oak carvings.

You can also shop at the souvenir gift shop and soak in all the interesting information.

The displays are authentic Titanic items and there are many. In fact, the museum houses nearly 400 Titanic artifacts.

Theres a power of being so near to those things that carry you across time and distance so that you dont feel exactly that you are in a strangely located tourist attraction, rather a legitimate museum with a legitimate connection to our collective past.

And finally, you can walk through life-size replicas of some of the ships compartments and features including the grand staircase and the third-class hallways.

The employees and team members in crew costumes are excellent in adding to the experience of putting you aboard historys best-known ship.

There is a delicacy that goes along with building a tourist attraction on the back of a great tragedy, even one that happened so long ago.

Titanic, somehow, walks that line.

I think a lot of that credit goes to a fairly obvious gambit.

When purchasing a ticket, visitors are given boarding passes with the names of passengers and crew like Molly Brown, for example.
