Timed Entry With No Fixed End Time
We have moved to timed-entry admission with no fixed end time. That means you can choose your start time and play for longer periods. Online reservations are recommended, but visitors can now explore the Museum from entry until closing. To ensure visitor safety, we will continue to limit the number of visitors in the Museum at any given time. Walk-ups are welcome if capacity has not been reached.

Membership Terms & Conditions
- Individual Membership rates are applicable to anyone ages 1-101.
- Membership cards must be presented to the Admissions Attendant upon each visit. Photo identification may also be requested upon presentation of the membership card.
- Childrens Museum memberships are non-transferable. Only the individual whose name appears on the membership card is eligible for member benefits.
- All membership benefits are conditional offers and may be subject to change without notice.
- Refund Policy: All memberships are non-refundable.
- School & Group Visits: Memberships are for individual visits only and cannot be applied to school or other group visits, including birthday parties or museum rentals.
- Please notify the Childrens Museum in the event of a lost or stolen membership card. Arrangements will be made to issue you a replacement card. A replacement fee of $2.50 will apply.
- Membership cards are available for pick-up in person only. The Childrens Museum does not mail membership cards.

A typical visit is 1-3 hours. Give yourself plenty of time to explore.
Our exhibits are designed for children, newborn to age 8.
Visiting Joy Park? Dress for chilly weather and pack a change of clothes. Please note: Joy Park may close due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions at the discretion of the Museum for the safety of our guests and staff.
Pets are not allowed in the Museum, including Joy Park. Service dogs are always welcome.

Free Daily Admission For Ebt Cardholders
We are proud to participate in the Institute of Museum & Library Services national Museums for All initiative to make the rich learning environments of museums accessible to all children and families. This special discounted rate is available to families receiving food assistance, by showing an EBT, CHIP, Provider One, WIC, or Apple Health card and ID.
Two guests admitted FREE daily with an EBT card and ID. $3 admission for each additional guest.

Listed Heritage Properties have cultural value but aren’t designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. These properties are included on Richmond Hill’s Heritage Register. The Register is an official record of listed and designated cultural heritage properties. Owners of these properties must let us know when they plan to demolish or remove a building or structure at least 60 days before applying for a demolition permit. |

Heritage staff can provide a Heritage Clearance Letter which will provide owners, realtors and lawyers with concise information regarding the heritage status of a specific property. |

Buy Or Reserve Tickets
Tickets MUST be purchased online. Members are required to reserve tickets online to gain entry to the Museum. Members with Association of Children’s Museums reciprocal benefits at another children’s museum are eligible to receive 50% off general admission for up to six people. Tickets will NOT be available at the door.
Weapon & Smoke Free Zone
For the comfort of our visitors and their families, we are a Weapon-Free Zone. We ask that visitors not bring any sharp objects or concealed weapons into the museum.
We are also a Tobacco & Vape-Free Zone. We ask that visitors do not smoke on museum property, including the Outdoor Discovery Center and entrance areas.

Richmond Hill has a list of Heritage Building Specialists in Ontario. The list helps you find qualified people to work on a heritage property or prepare a Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment. They have experience and products specializing in heritage structures. |

Heritage permits |
| Heritage property owners may need a Heritage Permit in order to complete any work on their property. A permit is needed when changes affect the “Reasons for Designation” listed in the designating by-law. Permit applications are submitted to the Heritage Planner and are approved by Council before any work can start. Some permits require a fee. Minor changes cost $406 and major changes cost $3,480. Contact the Heritage and Urban Design Planner to find out where your plan fits and how much a permit will cost. Once confirmed, you can submit your Heritage Permit online. |
