Socialworks 3rd Annual: A Night At The Museum

Chicago, IL SocialWorks 3rd Annual: A Night at the Museum returns on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 6pm-10pm to The Museum of Science and Industry . Attendees enjoy access to all of the museums exhibits after hours as well as 50 plus event-only activations that cant be experienced anywhere else. The night will include special activities, performances, interactive spaces, giveaways, and surprises around every corner.

Once again, guests are encouraged to bring donations as the event serves as a donation hub for the foundations Warmest Winter Initiative, which aims to raise awareness and provide relief for individuals experiencing homelessness and extreme hardship through service, events, donations, and direct support. All donations received at the museum will directly impact those experiencing homelessness in Chicago. A warming item can be a coat or a blanket, but can also be toys, a new deck of cards, or an old MP3 player with charger and headphones. Last years event saw thousands of attendees who provided more than 18,000 donated warming items to help those experiencing homelessness in Chicago. This year, the SocialWorks team hopes to exceed those numbers in providing warmth for those who need it most.

For One Night Only Select Chicago Museums Will Be Open Late To Celebrate The Citys Move To Phase 5

CHICAGO Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, along with Chicago museum leadership, today announced for one night only, select Chicago museums will be open late for visitors under the Mayors Open Chicago initiative as the city moves to Phase 5, Friday, June 11.

The move to fully reopen the city makes Chicago the largest city in the United States to reopen thanks to Chicagos diligence in following health and safety guidelines, wearing masks, getting vaccinated, and the dedication of our frontline and essential workers throughout the whole of the pandemic. Following the Mayors equity first approach to COVID response guarantees that not just parts of the city will remain safe and open to residents, but that the entire city will move forward together.

“One of the best ways we can celebrate our city’s reopening is by spending time at our renowned museums, which have undergone so many challenges over the course of this past year,” said Mayor Lightfoot. “That’s why I am thrilled that so many of our most iconic museums will be opening their doors until late this Friday night to give residents and visitors a headstart on returning to a sense of normalcy. I want to thank our museums’ leadership teams for their collaboration and am looking forward to seeing our beloved cultural institutions fully and safely come back to life in the coming days, weeks, and months.”

The Chicago History Museum will host the third edition of Chicago Night of Ideas on May 12, 2022, on the theme Where Are We Going? and will co-design the program in relation to its exhibitions.

Where Are We Going? invites us to interrogate topics that particularly resonate with the history of the city, 150 years after the great fire that ravaged the city and led to its reconstruction with some of the most modern vision and techniques of the time. At the eve of the elaboration of a new urban plan that takes into account the issues of equity and resilienceand at the end of a global pandemic that exacerbated social inequalities and encouraged withdrawal, we are invited to rethink the modes of governance and articulation of the local and global.

A year and a half after the Black lives matter movement that shook the United States and particularly the Midwest, with Minneapolis as its epicenter and on the threshold of an unprecedented environmental crisis, The Chicago Night of Ideas stands at the heart of the challenges of tomorrows world.

The program is structured around 4 panels. Everywhere else, short formats such as ted talks, artistic performances and workshopswill punctuate the wandering of the public in the exhibition spaces. A closing party will be organized from 10 to 11 p.m. The commitment of the museum resonates with the evenings focus on diversity, equity, inclusion.

Review: ‘night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb’

“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” otherwise known as “Night at the Museum 3,” rates as more determinedly heartfelt than the first and not as witty as the second . Also, no Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart in jodhpurs this time around.

“Night at the Museum 3” closes out director Shawn Levy’s effects-driven, family-friendly trilogy with three separate farewells. The most bittersweet parting involves the late Robin Williams. Water Purity And Availability

The New York City drinking water supply is extracted from the protected .
