NYC’s 9/11 Tribute Museum closing its doors

The Museum is seeking a Retail E-Commerce Assistant, responsible for supporting our online store operations through the holidays as part of the larger retail department. The museum is expanding our e-commerce product selection and refining our customer service experience online, so its an exciting time to join our team. This position focuses on merchandise fulfillment for ecommerce including picking, packing and shipping of online orders, including in-store pick up. This role will participate in weekly team meetings to streamline our online store processes and optimize work flow. The Retail E-Commerce Assistant will be involved in formatting our website, adding images and products as needed, and keeping our content current with important messages and information for our customers.

Manager Visitor /retail Customer Relations

The Museum of the City of New York is seeking a smart, hardworking, detail-oriented, energetic, and experienced Manager, Visitor and Retail Customer Relations to lead the Museums ticketing, customer service, and retail sales team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position will manage the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and motivating the staff of approximately 15 part-time employees. Working in close collaboration with the Associate Director of Retail, this position will be focused on maximizing visitor satisfaction while assisting in achieving retail sales goals.

  • Experience with publication design and layout, as well as digital illustration with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Procreate.

Duties Description

  • Design exhibition graphics and collaborate with both Senior and Associate Museum Exhibit Planners and other members of exhibit production teams to produce designs for interpretive graphics, special visual elements, gallery text panels, exhibit brochures, and education and promotional materials
  • Ensure that all designs are made ready for digital output and press ready for processing by the Museum Exhibit Specialist 1 and contract printers and
  • Use vinyl cutting equipment and digital printers to design graphics.

  • Leads to a maximum salary of $66,278 based on annual performance advances.

Visitor Services And Retail Associate

The Museum seeks enthusiastic and outgoing individuals with admissions and retail experience to join our Visitor Services/Retail Department. Museum Junior Library Custodian

The Museum seeks a Museum Junior Library Custodian responsible for the cleaning of the Museums public galleries and spaces, including sidewalks, all office and staff work areas while adhering to regular cleaning and maintenance schedules and all in accordance to the standards set by Museum management. The Museum Junior Library Custodian is also responsible to assist in the regular maintenance of the Museum building and property including private and public spaces, courtyards and sidewalks, as directed, and in the overall daily operations of services to the public and to Museum staff and other personnel.

    Find out what it takes to bring archaeological fieldwork into public view at a behind the scenes laboratory tour. Participants will learn how archaeologists analyze artifacts and how this information is used in exhibitions, museum reports and to answer research questions. Join staff from the Cultural Resource Survey Program for a behind-the-scenes tour of a working archaeology lab on October 7, 2014 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
