Join us Saturday, December 10 as we travel by Amtrak train to North Carolinas capital for guided tours and an inside look at some of the states most treasured structures.

Tour participants will meet at the Salisbury Amtrak Station at 6:45 a.m. for check-in. We will depart aboard Amtrak #80 at 7:28 a.m., and are scheduled to arrive at Raleigh Union Station at 10:05 a.m. The first stop on the tour will be the North Carolina State Capitol decorated for the holidays. Following lunch , we will tour Historic Oakwood, a community of homes mostly dated from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. Theres a continuing effort to preserve the Victorian, Queen Anne, and Craftsman architectural styles of these homes from a century ago. Enjoy these immaculate homes decorated for the holiday season.

Return is via Amtrak #79 , scheduled to depart Raleigh at 5:30 p.m. and to arrive back in Salisbury at 8:04 p.m.

Tours allow you to stroll through the halls of history, taking in views of Tarheel treasures and some of the best offerings the states capital has to offer.

NOTES: Tours are walking intensive and take place rain or shine. Historic Oakwood properties have very limited access for disabled persons. Please refrain from wearing shoes with hard soles.
