Dakshinachitra Museum Near Chennai Tamil Nadu
DakshinaChitra Museum, dedicated to south Indian culture, features a collection of 18 authentic historical houses from all over the region. Each one has been transported and reconstructed on the premises, and contains a contextual exhibition related to the lifestyle of the community that it belonged to. The museum opened in December 1996 and is a project of the Madras Craft Foundation. Crafts are promoted via activities and workshops for visitors. The museum also has a handicrafts shop.

Mattancherry Dutch Palace History
The Mattancherry Palace was built by the Portuguese as a gift for the King of Cochin sometime in 1545. The Dutch were also responsible for comprehensive renovations, repairs and extensions to the palace in 1663. It was thereafter given the moniker of Dutch Palace. The Rajas made several improvements and enhancements to the palace over the years. It is famous in contemporary times for the portrait gallery of the Rajas of Cochin. This palace contains some of the countrys best ever mythological murals. They showcase the finest artistic traditions intertwined with Hindu temple art and architecture. The palace was built to appease the Cochin Raja after the Portuguese plundered a nearby temple.
The landing of the famous Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama, at Kappad in 1498, was welcomed by the rulers of Kochi. They also received exclusive rights for building factories. The Portuguese helped in fending off the Zamorians and their constant attacks while the Rajas of Cochin practically turned into their loyal vassals. The Portuguese influence was taken over by the Dutch and they basically took over the entire Mattancherry zone in 1663. Hyder Ali subsequently conquered the entire region while the British East India Company came into the picture thereafter.

National Rail Museum Delhi
The National Rail Museum has a great collection of more than 100 genuine size displays of Indian Railways. It is situated in Chanakyapuri over an area of 10 acres of land. There is a toy train that tenders ride of the site on daily basis. Some of the other collections put on sight are antique furnitures, working models, historical photographs, signalling tools and more.
