Tips For Visiting With Your Family

Here are a few tips to help make your visit a success.

  • Help your child learn their role in protecting the historic Turnblad Mansion. Touching historic surfaces or art may be tempting but can leave harmful yet invisible fingerprints.
  • You dont need to be quiet in the Mansion or the exhibits! Encourage talking, questions, and even singing! Come back for the regular Kids at the Castle events when groups of kids and their adults have the Mansion to themselves and can listen to stories, dance, and play games.
  • Make a game out of looking at artwork and the Mansions details. Whats going on in a painting? Is the person happy or sad? Where do you think it was painted? How do you think your favorite item was made? What do you see in the wooden carvingsstrange animals, funny people? Communicate observations, opinions, and thoughts. There are no wrong answers!

The importance of image is why architects and designers are turning to Banker Wire, the worldwide leader in the manufacturer of wire mesh for architectural and industrial applications, to create signage that positions companies as forward-thinking and innovative.

The wire mesh sign at the gift shop for the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI, has a gritty feel that reflects the motorcycle manufacturers no compromise, no nonsense attitude. Designed by James Biber, an architect with Biber Architects, and Michael Bierut, a graphic designer with Pentagram Design, both in New York, the sign uses multiple layers of a dozen different types of Banker Wire crimp woven wire mesh to create a visually appealing texture as it also creates the words The Shop. The sign changes visually depending on the shoppers angle and distance.

Theres no question that the signs design makes an impact on customers. Architectural woven wire mesh provides a dynamic, aesthetic alternative that offers unlimited design possibilities and helps designers transcend traditional design. Manufactured in an environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient process, architectural mesh can also help projects achieve LEED certification.
