I have used this perk on a few different museums saving $20-$30 each and every time. The process has been as easy as you would imagine. I go up to the ticket counter like I would if I were buying a ticket for the day and I say I wanted to get a Bank of America Museums On Us ticket. The employees are well aware of the program and ask for me to show my card. They look at the card, verify it is a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch card and then print me a ticket.
