Located on the de Youngs main concourse and lower levels, the de Young Museum Store offers a vast array of art books and museum publications, distinctive decorative objects, jewelry and home accessories, along with textiles, posters, prints, stationery and educational childrens books and toys, all related to the museums permanent collections. The de Young Museum Store also features custom Art on Demand prints and a noteworthy selection of signature museum products developed by local, American and international artisans. Museum admission is not required.

Cultural Center

The San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center is comprised of the War Memorial Opera House, Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, Herbst Theatre, The Green Room, The Wilsey Center, and Harold L. Zellerbach Rehearsal Hall. It is also home to the San Francisco Ballet and San Francisco Opera. Tours are scheduled every Monday, except holidays, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the hour. All tours leave from the Grove Street entrance of Davies Symphony Hall and cost $7.

• Research unique merchandise to ensure a fresh mix of contemporary craft and design at a variety of price points that reflect the Museums mission, exhibitions, and experiences

• Collaborate on the potential development of custom branded products that reflect MCDs identity and contribute to increasing MCDs visibility

• Regularly merchandise and refresh the store to ensure the best product placement and visual appeal for museum patrons

• Manage special retail events throughout the year to increase earned revenue and to raise MCDs visibility in the community

• Pack and ship orders using best practices

• Assist with visitor and revenue-producing areas of MCD, i.e. special events

• Regularly maintain and update merchandise availability on MCD website

• Encourage membership sales with store visitors

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

The museum also operates the Artists Gallery at Fort Mason, a nonprofit gallery located at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco’s Marina district. The Artists Gallery was founded in 1978 as an outlet for emerging and established Northern California artists. The gallery holds eight exhibitions each year, including solo, group, and thematic shows. Works cover a range of styles and media, from traditional to experimental, and all works are available for rent or purchase.

In 2021, SFMOMA announced they are closing the artists gallery along with a publishing platform and the film program.
