Grant Awarded For Connecticut Summer At The Museum
The Wallingford Historic Preservation Trust was one of 10 cultural organizations in New Haven County awarded a $3,400 grant to participate in the Connecticut Summer at the Museum program. The program is part of Governor Ned Lamonts plan to use recovery funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to provide students and families with summer enrichment and learning experiences in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Connecticut children age 18 and under, plus one accompanying adult, can visit participating museums free of charge through Sept. 6. Stay tuned for news about some kid-centric programs that we will be offering this summer at the American Silver Museum at the Franklin Johnson Mansion.
The Connecticut Summer at the Museum program is administered by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Developments Office of the Arts in partnership with Connecticut Humanities. Governor Lamont Announces Launch Of Program Allowing Children To Receive Free Admission At Connecticut Museums This Summer
Governor Ned Lamont today announced the launch of Connecticut Summer at the Museum a new state program created in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic that allows Connecticut children to receive free admission at more than 90 museums across Connecticut during the 2021 summer months.
The program was originally proposed earlier this year by the governor as part of his larger plan to use a portion of the recovery funding Connecticut is receiving to provide children and families with engaging summer enrichment and learning experiences. His proposal was approved by the state legislature in the biennial state budget that he signed into law last week.
Under the finalized program, from July 1 to September 6, 2021, all Connecticut children age 18 and under plus one accompanying adult will receive free admission to any of the participating museums, including historic house museums, historic sites, historical societies, art museums, childrens museums, science centers, special-interest museums, natural history museums, university museums, arboretums/botanical gardens, and zoos.
Some of the participants include the Connecticut Science Center, Connecticuts Beardsley Zoo, the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, Mystic Aquarium, and Mystic Seaport Museum, among many others.

Ct Kids Free Admission
From July 1 to September 6, Connecticut children ages 18 and younger, plus one accompanying adult, can visit Mystic Seaport Museum for free as part of the Connecticut Summer at the Museum program. The program is part of Gov. Ned Lamonts plan to use recovery funds to provide students and families engaging educational and enrichment experiences in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To be eligible, the children and adult must be Connecticut residents. Participants are asked to fill out a brief online form and order their free admission tickets in advance of their visit. There is no limit to the number of free visits families may enjoy during the program. This program is intended for families exploring together, not large camp or youth groups.
There is no daily limit to the number of tickets available. Everyone who qualifies can attend on the day that they want, with the exception of The WoodenBoat Show, August 20-22, when the free admission is not offered.
The program runs through September 6, 2021.

From art and children’s museums and historical sites to zoos, aquariums, and science centers, there’s a long list of participating museums to check out. It should be noted that before heading out, it’s wise to check the museum’s website to see if advance tickets or reservations are required. The summer museum program is geared towards families exploring together, not large camp groups, it’s noted.

CONNECTICUT Children under the age of 18 will have access to dozens of Connecticut museums for free this summer, under a new program announced by Gov. Ned Lamont on Wednesday.
Beginning on Thursday and running through Sept. 6, admission will be free for kids at more than 90 of the state’s museums under the program, which was created in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
“This program provides a unique opportunity for children to take advantage of the world-class museums and attractions offered in Connecticut, while having both a fun and educational experience,” Lamont said in a statement. “Museums are centers of exploration, recreation, and learning, and will play an important role in helping provide social-emotional, mental health, and educational growth opportunities that were limited during the pandemic. It is my hope that families take advantage of this unique opportunity happening in Connecticut this summer.”

Connecticut children receive free general admission as part of CT Summer at Museum program. Tickets include one accompany adult free admission. In order to receive this promotion, guests must reserve a timed ticket online using the link below.
The program covers all children in the party and one adult. Children 2 and under are always free. This promotion is for families. Youth, camp, and other groups are not included. This promotion runs from July 1 to September 6, but a limited number of tickets are available per day. Once Mystic Aquarium runs out of tickets, this promotion will no longer be available. Please plan your visit accordingly.
You must be a current resident of Connecticut to participate in the CT Summer at the Museum program.

CTs Old Statehouse is open for the summer!
The free Connecticut Summer at the Museum program also includes admission to Connecticuts Old State House, which is now open regular hours from 12-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and 12-8 p.m. on Thursdays. Regular Prices: $8 for adults $4 for seniors, children 6-17, AAA Members. Always FREE for Active Duty Military & Veterans, children under 6, and with Capital Community College ID

From July 1 through Sept. 6, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum joins more than 90 museums across the state in offering Connecticut children ages 18 and under plus one accompanying adult free admission. The program was created by Governor Lamont as part of his larger plan to provide children and families with engaging summer enrichment and learning experiences in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To redeem this offer, choose CT Summer at the Museum admission during ticket purchase. This program is for Connecticut residents only and geared towards families exploring together, not camp and school groups.
*Tour capacity is limited. Double-booking is not permitted. Walk-ins are welcome to purchase tickets at the door, and subject to availability. We ask that you are ready for the tour 5 minutes prior to start time. Whether youve reserved a ticket ahead of time or are a walk-in on the day of, latecomers will not be guaranteed a spot on the tour.
Ct Summer At The Museum
The Glebe House Museum & Gertrude Jekyll Garden is proud to be a part of CT Summer at the Museum Free Admission for Kids program that was announced yesterday, June 30th. Under this program children 18 and under will receive free admission to participating museums. One accompanying adult will also receive free admission. The program will be in effect from July 1 – September 6th .
The Glebe House Museum is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1:00 – 3:30 pm for guided tours. The Museum Shoppe is open from 1:00 – 4:00 pm for purchases and information. The Gertrude Jekyll Garden is open 7 days – dawn-dusk for self guided visits. There are picnic tables available for visitor use with the exception of July 12 – July 30 , when our summer program children will be using them from 9-3 pm. Restroom is available during museum hours.

This program has been made possible through the American Rescue Plan Act. The use of the federal ARPP funds for the program was proposed by Governor Lamont and approved by the Connecticut General Assembly. The funds are being administered by the CT Department of Economic and Community Development and CT Humanities.

Lyman Allyn Art Museum Highlighted As Part Of Ct Summer At The Museum
New London Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz joined New London Mayor Michael Passero and others Tuesday at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum to highlight the CT Summer at the Museum program.
The program provides free entry to more than 90 museums and cultural sites across the state for children 18 and under and one accompanying adult. Free admission is open to Connecticut residents only.
Lyman Allyn, which independently decided to offer free admission to the public during the summer months and is always free to New London residents, is one of four destinations in New London taking part in the program. The others are: Fort Trumbull State Park, New London Maritime Society and Hempstead Houses.
Formica, who is co-chair of the state legislatures tourism caucus, said museums and area attractions suffered because of the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
The pandemic kept a lot of people away,” he said. This is a good program that will provide a jump-start to the economy and help people to get back in the habit of coming to these wonderful places.
