There is really nothing like the display at the Chihuly. I just walk around looking at the exhibits saying “wow”! It simply has to be seen.
The Chihuly Collection has moved to a larger location, on Central Ave. in downtown St. Petersburg. The museum, is located across the Street from the Morean Arts Center. A ticket includes a visit to the Morean Arts Center, a glass blowing demonstration that lasts around 45 minutes, and entrance to the Chihuly Collection. If you happen to arrive early, there is a restaurant called the Banyan Cafe, beside the Morean, that serves coffee, and pastries, as well as a full fledge breakfast, and lunch.If you are just passing by, try to take time to visit the Glass Shop behind the Morean, it is filled with hand blown glass, that is created in the hot shop. No charge for the visit, and you will be overwhelmed with the beautiful selection of art glass. There is parking on the streets, as well as two lots beside and in back of the building. The Central Ave Block that the Chihuly Collection is located, is filled with other interesting shops, great places to eat, and plenty of murals to look at. Well worth the visit, to complete your trip to St. Petersburg.
